Accounting & Finance Specialist

Summary
The Accounting & Finance Specialist should be an entrepreneurial and motivated individual with a desire to contribute to a fast-paced, growing company. The candidate will report directly to the AVP Accounting Manager and will be responsible for a variety of activities in collaboration with the finance, accounting, and accounts payable teams. It's a great opportunity to gain exposure and experience within the vast financial operations of a growing bank.
Responsibilities
- Support daily accounting operations, such as entries to the general ledger, monitoring and balancing of activity and ongoing research as needed.
- Assist with the monthly budget plan, review and track operating expenses, provide detailed analysis and support for monthly results.
- Produce ad hoc budget, profitability and financial analysis as needed.
- Preparing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, to include analysis and resolution of outstanding items.
- Assist with the month end and year end close.
- Set up new vendors and verify all information received is complete and accurate.
- Assist vendors with invoice and payment inquiries, accurately review and process vendor invoices.
- Assist with the Bank's credit card program, ensuring that all records are properly approved and contain appropriate support.
- Assist with updating existing procedures and the creation of new procedures within various areas of the department.
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, finance, economics, or similar.
- 0-2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or graduate degree program.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
