The Sr. Risk Analyst is part of a global team supporting risk matters for the Investor Services business line. The Sr. Risk Analyst supports members of the Risk Management team with general risk management efforts pertaining to the proactive identification, assessment, monitoring, measurement, mitigation, and communication of risks across the organization. This position is focused on support of ERM's administration of the New Business Review Group and Market Event Response programs as well as risk advisory for the Relationship Excellence Pillar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively support and participate in the New Business Review Group, assessing whether new business is in line with the firm's stated risk appetite.
  • Support, maintain and enhance the programmatic elements of the New Business Review Group (NBRG) including the NBRG policy and procedures, meeting minutes, reporting and analysis, training efforts and day-to-day workflow.
  • Work collaboratively with business sponsors from both the operational teams and Relationship Excellence to ensure proper documentation and governance is performed for all new opportunities.
  • Provide advice on best practices, training, risk reduction initiatives and other risk matters impacting the Investor Services Relationship Excellence Pillar. Act as a contact for risk matters arising in the business.
  • Provide a high standard of reporting and communication on risk and control topics to internal stakeholders, representing Risk Management to the Investor Services business and control functions (Enterprise Risk Management, Legal, Compliance and Internal Audit).
  • Identify, assess and escalate trends and control weaknesses, particularly as it relates to the Relationship Excellence Pillar within Investor Services; support the business in its development of sustainable solutions for the management of risk leveraging established control standards.
  • Monitor, track and report on corrective action plans, while analyzing trends and assessing root causes related to audit/regulatory findings, risk and control self-assessment gaps and risk events.
  • Leverage existing risk management tools, such as the firmwide risk event database ("FRED") and risk and control self-assessment database ("RCSA") to assist in causal analysis of risk matters/incidents and as a tool to analyze and report on trends.
  • Support and promote a culture of risk awareness, transparency and escalation across the InServ line of business.
  • Support training initiatives to develop risk awareness, risk culture and an understanding of fundamental control principles across the business.
  • Work closely with business management and peers in Enterprise Risk Management, Legal, Compliance and Internal Audit to ensure effective and proactive business risk mitigation.

Qualifications

  • College degree in related field required
  • Minimum of 5 years of related business, risk, analytical, project management or business conversion experience; preferably in a wealth or asset management firm
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a risk and control focus and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal communication skills to be able to influence, guide and credibly challenge stakeholders in relation to risk and control matters.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of BBH systems a plus.

This role is based in our Boston location and is a hybrid role, with three days per week in office.
