Site Deployment Engineer - IT Builds Team

At Wayfair, we are looking to grow our Wayfair IT Operations team by bringing on board a talented individual who wants broad exposure to the technologies that support our infrastructure and our large-scale Internet e-commerce platform. As a IT Build Engineer, you will collaborate with a talented team and dive into challenging technical problems to meet tight deadlines. This job requires a unique combination of flexibility, creativity, innovation, leadership, and effective communication. You will travel extensively (~50%) to locations in North America.

Responsibilities:

• Resolving users' application questions or problems in the areas of software configurations/setup, product functionality and bugs/enhancements
• Building a strong relationship with the business to become a “trusted advisor”.
• Serving as primary support liaison between company and user for urgent support issues
• Keeping user informed of how and when problems are resolved
• Perform follow up, testing, and troubleshooting of hardware/software
• Promoting and maintaining a high quality, professional, service & adoption oriented company image among users
• May travel to assist users in other sites on occasions
• Performing on-site hardware and software support during initial system deployment
• Leading large teams through setup and configuration of software/application, hardware systems
• Managing onsite relationships with multiple internal and external teams during the on-site implementation.

Qualifications:

• BA or BS degree from a 4-year college or university is preferred but not required
• Three to five years of current IT Support Experience
• A high degree of technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• A strong sense of customer service, attention to detail and desire for organization
• Active directory experience, including Group Policy Objects and User Profiles
• Unix/Linux (particularly FreeBSD) knowledge/interest a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize appropriately.
• Scripting ability, especially using Powershell, VBScript and/or PHP, a large plus

Excellent communications skills combined with proven analytical and technical/mechanical skills
