Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you be responsible for architecting and building the core technologies and infrastructure to modernize and scale ADI's data engineering platform.
  • Lead technical teams to architect and develop a data platform, focusing on modern, scalable, and robust design principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as data engineers, software engineers, infrastructure teams, and business units to enable effective data cohesion to support business processes and analytics.
  • Lead technology selection and development of enterprise data virtualization, data orchestration tools, and integration with AI/ML platforms.
  • Provide technical leadership, overseeing the entire data platform lifecycle. Enable and support self-serve data engineering solutions for both the wider data team and engineers throughout the enterprise.
  • Implement and uphold modern software design principles, ensuring best practices in CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Proactively ensure the security and integrity of the platform and data feeds and take part in security and privacy design reviews.
  • Conduct research to stay ahead of the latest developments in data engineering, communicate learnings to the team, and evaluate / recommend new technologies for the platform.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years working on data engineering platforms and experience leading technical teams.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience rolling out data virtualization technologies at scale and architecting the connection and cataloging of many real-time data feeds.
  • Broad expertise and experience with distributed systems, streaming systems, and data tools, such as Kubernetes, Kafka, Airflow, Dagster, etc.
  • Experience architecting large-scale data processing infrastructure using modern cloud infrastructure on Azure or AWS.
  • Proven ability to design and build modern DevOps / DataOps processes.
  • An advocate of software development best practices that focuses on engineering excellence.
  • A confident peer influencer with strong communication skills who quickly establishes credibility and is capable of leading cross-functional technical teams.
