The VP of Sales is responsible for leading, coaching, developing, and executing on the strategic roadmap of our high-performing sales team here at EverQuote. The successful candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced sales environment with relatively short sales cycles and high-growth expectations. This team member will be responsible for driving the growth of our entire Agency business, ensuring the sales team is delivering against sales targets, while contributing to the successful rollout of new products to returning customers and net new agents.

In this role you will:

  • Lead, inspire, manage, and mentor a team of 40+ with the goal of doubling the team by 50% while maintaining rep productivity in the next 12 months
  • Utilize an analytical mindset that allows for deeper inspection of individual, team, and segment level pipeline development and forecasting
  • Drive revenue through new customer acquisition, meeting or exceeding all sales targets and performance metrics
  • Build a culture of accountability and urgency by transparently leveraging metrics and reporting to drive the right behaviors
  • Develop and own the strategy for accelerating the growth of the Agency Business by maximizing our territory output and onboarding new hires quickly.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our product messaging, technology platform and competitive landscape
  • Cultivate an environment of teamwork, openness, creativity, and continuous improvement
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to communicate the needs of EverQuote’s customers and product requirements
  • Develop and maintain accurate forecast for the Agency Business
  • Build excellent working relationships with all key business leaders, colleagues, and broader team
  • Listen carefully to prospects and clients to provide market feedback to the Product team and help prioritize functionality needed to drive sales opportunities
  • Bring a growth mind-set to the team while continually driving accountability, trust, and integrity
  • Spearhead the rollout of new products and programs, ensuring that reps are adequately trained and confident for significant client adoption
  • Effectively communicates, formally and informally, up and down the organization
  • Contribute to all aspects of sales management administration (forecasting, territory reviews, etc.)
  • Comfortable and proficient in the implementation of sales processes and methodologies
  • Continual spot coaching, as well as organized sessions in the interest of up-skilling members of the team on a professional, personal, and financial basis.
  • Get in the trenches to strategize and help to move deals across the line with the team


Who You Are:

  • BA/BS minimum with 10+ years sales and leadership experience
  • Managed a distributed team of 20+ reps
  • Track record of success and achievement in sales and other pursuits
  • Experience selling SaaS or other internet/technology subscriptions a strong plus
  • Effective user of technology tools, including CRM, to improve sales performance
  • Exceptional credibility with previous team members and organizations
  • Strong track record of decisiveness and accountability in previous roles
  • Proven approach of providing servant leadership through emotional intelligence and "grit"
  • Has driven new business revenue growth of 50%+ Y/Y
