Vice President, NA Sales
Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Vice President of North America Sales will lead a high velocity sales team responsible for a significant portion of SmartBear’s revenue. In this role, you will leverage your experience building high-velocity inside sales teams in a matrixed organization with a track-record of achieving annual recurring revenue targets. You will be responsible for leading a 70+ person sales organization, driving the acquisition of new accounts and increasing the spend with existing clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead a 70+ person inside sales team to achieve ARR targets
- Supervises and mentors the leaders and members of the Sales organization
- Drive growth through acquiring new business and expanding our presence in existing accounts
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual planning activities including forecasting, pipeline management and effectiveness Oversee cross-departmental coordination to increase customer retention
- Accurately manage an on-going sales pipeline across the team for forecasting purposes
- Partner with sales leaders and members on closing complex sales
- Work with marketing to drive new business and expand our install base
- Responsible for ensuring that processes and infrastructure are in place to ensure continued success, consistency in approach and scalability
- Works cross-functionally with peers within Sales and across Product, Marketing, and G&A to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Identify technical and satisfaction trends and provide “voice of the customer” feedback to senior leadership
- Help drive strategic initiatives and program improvement related to infrastructure, workflows, processes, CSM development
- Develop staffing plans and hiring of new team members as needed; including forecasting and determining future needs
Experience
- 10+ years of sales leadership experience
- Software sales experience required, experience selling into the software development space preferred
- Experience managing the managers of front-line sales managers
- Proven success in achieving AAR revenue targets exceeding 40M

- Must thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing atmosphere
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Exceptional organizational skills & ability to deliver against multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related discipline
