Strategic Account Manager
ezCater is the world’s largest online marketplace for catering – a $60+ billion market just in the U.S. Businesspeople use us to find and order great food for meetings and events; restaurants and caterers use us to grow their catering business. We’re backed by Insight Partners, Iconiq Capital, Wellington, Lightspeed, and GIC, and in early 2019 were valued at $1.25 billion. COVID slammed us, but we responded by finding new customer segments and seizing the rare opportunity COVID offered: when in life does a very successful operation get a do-over? Come help us power Food For Work even better than we did it the first time.
The Strategic Account Operations team plays a critical role in delivering successful outcomes for ezCater’s highest-value catering partners. As a Strategic Account Manager, you’ll be the go-to point of contact and relationship manager for a group of new and long-held enterprise partners. You’ll have a 360° view into each of your partners’ business goals and success plans with ezCater, and will gain buy-in from senior leaders and cross-functional teams to achieve these goals.
You’ll collaborate closely with ezCater’s sales team to ensure our new enterprise partners’ onboarding experiences are thorough, seamless, and insanely helpful. You’ll support the expansion and implementation of ezCater’s product suite across newly-acquired brands and legacy accounts with the highest growth potential. And, as your accounts mature with ezCater, you’ll proactively monitor key performance metrics and develop strategies/deliver solutions that will enrich ezCater’s most strategic partnerships.
You will:
- Build strong relationships with a portfolio of enterprise-level restaurant accounts.
- Maintain a confident, consultative approach: You’ll initiate conversations with your partners around performance, retention, optimization, and growth.
- Affect “top-down” change: You’ll define areas of improvement with key corporate contacts, and work alongside them to execute solutions across their entire organization.
- Rely on data to identify and solve problems: These opportunities will present themselves on an “inbound” basis, and during regular business reviews that are prepared and delivered by you.
- Be an advocate for your partners’ success: You’ll consistently introduce and leverage internal experts as new opportunities and pain points present themselves.
- Expand business potential at the executive level by helping your partners integrate ezCater into their overall growth strategy.
- Manage implementation projects: When your partners take advantage of ezCater’s product offerings, you’ll facilitate the tasks required to bring these enhancements to fruition, and then track their penetration/impact.
- Serve as the “funnel” for partner requests and actively follow their resolutions; if the bulk of work required does not live with you, end communication likely will.
- Collaborate daily: You’ll partner frequently with ezCater’s sales, marketing, and product/technology orgs, and you’ll delegate activities as necessary to a support team.
- Represent ezCater externally: You’ll present data and recommendations to C-suite executives at some of the nation’s most widely-recognized restaurant brands; you’ll host webinars for hundreds of operators; you may also connect with your contacts at their corporate offices, at trade shows, etc.
- Move fast and take risks: Your role will consistently evolve, and your input will help to drive that evolution.
Please have:
- 5+ years of experience in a proactive account management or customer success role; you’ve managed a portfolio of enterprise accounts, and can demonstrate how you “moved the needle” for your organization.
- Emotional intelligence and innate relationship/negotiation skills (you build trust quickly and maintain it easily).
- Problem-solving expertise (you start with root cause and tailor solutions accordingly).
- An entrepreneurial, self-starter attitude; you’re ready to hit the ground running in a developing role on a team that’s new to ezCater.
- The ability to prioritize, balance, and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Executive presence and excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Experience in data analytics, Excel, and/or SQL is a plus.
