edX seeks a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our Online Campus team. We accept applications from remote employees in the following US states: MA, CO, CT, ME, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VT.

edX Online Campus provides universities with access to more flexible and accessible resources to drive digital transformation and blended learning at these institutions. Given recent global developments related to COVID-19, many institutions have rapidly shifted to offer online options. edX Online Campus offers top-notch consulting and support to universities that need help during a time when many have had trouble seeking alternative ways to reach remote students and faculty; we extend the reach of education beyond the classroom, enabling flexible solutions for remote learners and augmenting existing on-campus offerings. 

You will be part of one of the most exciting things we have built in years, so -- if you’re looking for a sales position that’s a little different than the others -- this is it! This is a multi-billion dollar industry that is ripe for disruption, and edX has the ideal product. 

Your Team

The driven, collaborative SDR team comprises sales professionals just starting their careers but delivering high-performing impact across the team along the way. Our SDRs are responsible for qualifying inbound and outbound leads. Their outreach and prospecting efforts enable edX to meet our quarterly revenue goals. Whomever fills this position will join a high-performing team of five reps.

You Will

  • Initiate the sales process with the world’s finest academic institutions and leaders (deans, provosts, etc.) seeking to ensure online success and equitable outcomes for all learners
  • Conduct email, phone, and video outreach to hunt new and expand current accounts 
  • Attain (and eventually exceed) your monthly quota for meetings set and qualified leads converted into sales opportunities
  • Continuously further professional education by researching and implementing best practices related to sales prospecting and the e-learning industry
  • Expertly represent edX’s products, vision, value proposition, and solutions to innovative universities in the US and across the world
  • Actively contact prospects - both outbound and inbound - to build a pipeline of  large business opportunities for your team
  • Independently uncover and understand prospects' learning needs at a granular level - establishing budget, authority, need, and timeline
  • Consistently nurture a hybrid pipeline of both qualified leads that could become sales opportunities and potential deals that have yet to close
  • Evolve and implement targets and measurement KPIs for both operational effectiveness and financial results  
  • Be able to clearly promote and evangelize edX in a highly professional manner
  • Continuously further professional education by researching and implementing best practices related to sales prospecting and the e-learning industry

You Have

  • Demonstrated ability to write compelling personalized emails and professionally communicate our solution to the highest levels of academic leadership
  • The ability to generate a high-quality pipeline, manage a large volume of opportunities through a sales process, and accurately forecast sales
  • Deep enthusiasm for higher education and what we’re building here
  • Hunger to succeed in a startup or hyper-growth business environment
  • Experience as a high achiever
  • Solution selling approach and willingness to partner with internal colleagues to meet the business requirements of your prospects
  • A goals-driven and self-motivated dynamic 
  • A willingness to work with seasoned, experienced, industry professionals; you’re capable of and willing to take input from others to learn, adapt, and apply 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a Business Development role (SaaS or EdTech/content sales experience a plus)
  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM 
  • Experience working in a SaaS environment
