ezCater has an exciting new opportunity for career-minded individuals looking to grow into a sales role. We will provide the guidance, structure, tools, and experience necessary to steer you towards building a successful path in sales. This position focuses heavily on frontloading knowledge of the ins-and-outs of the organization, as well as sales fundamentals beginning to end.

The recipe for a successful sales career has four ingredients:

  1. YOU! We are looking for talent with elite potential. We are a superstar factory, and to do that you need to start with the best raw talent
  2. Product knowledge - You need to understand the product you are representing inside and out before you can help others understand how it can help them. Before you ever speak to a customer or ‘make a sale’, we make sure you are equipped with this knowledge.
  3. Sales skills - We believe deeply that sales is far more a science than an art. The science of sales is having the skills to predictably win the deals you are supposed to win and minimize your time spent with deals you will never win.
  4. Preparing you for the rest of your career - It might be strange to talk about your next job in a description of the job we are offering, but again we are different. We truly hope you love ezCater so much that you work with us for your entire career, but also recognize that is unlikely. Nothing makes us happier than someone moving on to continue to grow your career, even if its not with us.

ezCater Sales Academy has four phases:

Phase 1 (Weeks 1 to 6): 6 weeks of Customer Service training with other Customer Success Ninjas/Customer Service Reps
- Product knowledge training: You will be entered into our intensive, award-winning customer service training program lead by a team of trainers with a mix of classroom and hands-on learning. You will be learning the ins-and-outs of how ezCater works and what our Customer Service Ninjas do to delight our customers. You will leave this training with all the tools to handle any customer service needs you encounter.

Phase 2 (Weeks 7 to 52): Full-time Customer Service team member with actionable goals
- Understanding the customer: Upon completion of training, you will wear the hat of a Customer Service Ninja. You will be immersed into the frontlines of our business, talking to actual customers and caterers. You'll review -- and create -- food orders, convince customers and restaurants that they're in good hands with us, and solve puzzles, all while providing high-quality customer service over the phone, text message, or email. You will see first hand how we make both our caterers’ and customers’ lives easier.

Phase 3 (Weeks 52 and beyond): Introduction to Sales
- Sales Skills: Once you have shown a mastery of understanding and helping our customers, it is time for your first sales job! You will transition to taking inbound calls from potential customers who are reaching out to ezCater for the very first time. Your job will be to help guide the potential customer to their very first order and welcome them to ezCater. During this transition phase, it is not uncommon to transition back and forth between phase 2 and 3 as we ensure you get all the skills you need for a successful sales career.

Phase 4 (subject to performance): Transition to Account Executive role

Note on Promotions: These timelines aren’t hard and fast, rather they serve as a guideline for our program. If you work hard to hone your craft, show mastery in the skills you are asked to learn and the tasks you are asked to perform, don’t be surprised to get a tap on the shoulder that it time to try something new. Lastly, don’t be surprised if you fall in love with customer service, as we’re happy to help you down this path.

You Will:

  • Have the ability to learn and communicate ezCater to customers
  • Remain pleasantly persistent and be able to think on your toes in new situations
  • Handle a high volume of actionable tasks (in various channels), while hitting and exceeding goals
  • Build relationships in a short time frame to develop trust and rapport
  • Pay close attention to detail when documenting in CRM or other tools

You have:

  • No/minimal sales experience (but if you have 0-2+ years of professional experience as a BDR/SDR, Account Executive, or in a client-facing role - it helps)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A passion for building relationships and empathy for prospects and customers alike
  • The ability to be insanely helpful, while influencing others
  • Are naturally guided by common sense and have a great sense of humor
  • Are committed to ongoing self-development
  • A love to be busy -- really busy -- and then go home and forget all about it.
