Principal Account Manager, Expedia

Key Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Americas OTA Head of Sales, responsible for the Global Expedia book of business, managing campaigns in North & South America, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
  • Grow revenue across full suite of TripAdvisor commercial products: Digital Advertising, Meta-Search Auction and Sponsor Placements for Hotel and (Hotel + Flight) Packages
  • Provide regular business updates to senior leaders, interacting on occasion with C-suite level executives internally
  • Identify optimization opportunities through data analysis to improve performance with measurable results for Expedia & TripAdvisor
  • Collaborate with OTA Client Partner Manager to identify and support new product pitches for Expedia; owning the post-launch integration and new campaign optimization
  • Guide the operational Expedia Account Manager, who is a secondary, support role, aligning on priorities and leading in business decisions
  • Participate in Product discussions with Optimizers and Technical teams, conveying partner business cases
  • Organize and lead working sessions and Quarter Business Reviews with the Expedia and TripAdvisor teams.
  • Contribute to Account Management team morale and experience through mentorship and leadership as the most senior member of the group
  • Some business travel required to Seattle and London


  • 8-12 years’ experience in sales/account management with successful track record driving revenue growth for Key or Enterprise accounts
  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills, must be able to use data to identify underlying trends and make informed commercial decisions
  • Strong organization skills, intense attention to detail, distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information
  • Excellent background working with technical teams including product, data science and engineering
  • Clear communication through expression of facts and ideas in a clear, convincing and organized manner
  • Flexible and open to change and new information; adapts behavior and work methods accordingly 
  • Strong customer focus and relationship building skills
  • Proven track record in influencing multiple stakeholders to get things done
  • Strong commercial instinct and entrepreneurial drive combined with ability to be creative, take initiative and take calculated risks
  • Experience with international business a plus but not required
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel & Power Point
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Fluent in English
