Operations Finance Manager
We are looking to add to our Finance Team and are hiring a Cost Accounting Manager / Plant Controller. We want someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes cost accounting! The ideal candidate genuinely enjoys working with the manufacturing and operations teams on inventory and all plant accounting topics.
- Create and maintain operational financial metrics and provide financial reporting related to demand planning, supply chain, manufacturing, finished goods, outsourced manufacturing, third-party and reverse logistics
- Manage costing process and management reporting for in-house and third party manufacturing facilities
- Manage manufacturing overhead and material burden rate calculations and updates, landed cost estimates and cost analyses, PPV etc.
- Manage warranty and repair accounting, including monthly accruals and reconciliations
- Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and ensure consistent application of cost accounting principles
- Monitor, measure and refine KPIs, metrics and operational performance for the Director of Operations
- Assist in building and managing the cycle count processes at all facilities; plan and execute periodic physical inventory counts at primary and third-party facilities, facilitating third party audit observations
- Collaborate with procurement and data analytics to drive ERP improvement and optimization projects related to costing, BOMs and managing SKUs
- Assist with the coordination and deliverables for quarterly reviews and annual audits performed by internal and external auditors
- Key Team Member and/or Lead on cross-functional projects and process enhancements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA preferred
- 7-8+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, through either cost accounting or FP&A
- Thorough understanding of standard cost accounting principles including capitalization of variances, E&O reserves, and experience with standard cost analysis
- Self-motivated to get to the bottom of problems and propose solutions
- Effective at communicating complex topics with an unfamiliar audience
- Strong Excel skills, including clear and concise cost-model building
- Deep accounting knowledge and ability to think critically about GAAP-related issues
- Proven experience building strong relationships with senior management, external providers, business partners etc.
- Bonus points for exposure to contract manufacturing relationships and workflows
