Domeyard is a fintech startup and quantitative hedge fund based in Boston. Our firm employs artificial intelligence and computer algorithms to trade rapidly in a variety of markets.

We are looking to hire a full-time Operations Associate to support the day-to-day business operations. This is an entry-level position with flexible opportunities for career growth up to the COO-level in the business development, accounting, marketing, HR and legal functions of a technologically innovative hedge fund.

The ideal candidate is a generalist who can perform a wide cross-section of ad hoc and new tasks. You must have excellent time management, attention to detail and organization. We welcome less experienced applicants who are prepared for demanding work hours and a fast learning curve in the beginning year of the job.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assisting with the preparation and review of tax workpapers, allocations, financial statements, fund capital activity, position valuations and cash and position reconciliations
  • Writing reports, emails, meeting minutes and fund marketing materials
  • Managing relationships with investors
  • Coordinating with accountants, lawyers, vendors, exchanges and prime brokers.
  • Regulatory compliance (preparing quarterly and annual filings)
  • Researching financial regulations, partnership tax issues, market structure and client sourcing opportunities
  • Bookkeeping (filing invoices and receipts)
  • Office management (managing office supplies and catering, coordinating meetings, planning events, organizing electronic records)
  • HR (recruiting, visa applications, onboarding, payroll and benefits administration)
  • Assisting partners on administrative tasks (scheduling, travel planning)

Here's the minimum background we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy and software skills (Excel, Google Docs)
  • Interest in tech startups, investment firms or fund accounting

Here’s a variety of things which will make you stand out:

  • Immediate availability to start work
  • 1+ years relevant experience in fund accounting, operations or investor relations
  • Degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics or marketing
  • Digital marketing skills (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, social media platforms) and other software skills (QuickBooks, git, LaTeX, OS X)
  • Strong numerical skills
  • CFA or CPA designation
  • Coursework in financial products such as futures, equities and options
  • Basic programming experience (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Python)
  • Portfolio of any writing samples, creative content or digital publications
