Market Development’s role within the company is to establish Indigo as a partner to consumer facing brand companies in the food and apparel industries. The Manager, Market Development will build commercial relationships with these companies that unlock value in global supply chains and align incentives to convert commodity crops into specialty ones that improve farmer economics, environmental sustainability, and consumer health. This position will be a generalist initially—working across multiple verticals (CPG, protein, beverage, apparel, and retail companies) —eventually becoming a category owner as the Market Development organization evolves. This role will report to the Head of Market Development.

Responsibilities:

Build a quality pipeline and initiate outreach

  • Map the landscape of key verticals and develop a prioritized pipeline of top targets
  • Initiate outreach and support the Market Development team in building relationships with prospective companies that convert to productive meetings with tangible outcomes
  • Network and navigate to warm contacts as well as initiate cold outreach

Manage relationships to commercial success

  • Collaborate with consumer facing brand companies to develop specialty product opportunities
  • Develop and execute long term supply agreements and other collaborations with partner companies

Develop relationships for long term value

  • Effectively manage accounts and network cross functionally within partner companies to expand existing and identify new opportunities

Able to quickly develop an understanding of Indigo:

  • Understand internal touchpoints to be successful
  • Network well within the organization and build relationships cross-functionally to know where to get needed information and develop creative solutions for partner companies

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise sales or other client facing or partnership building role
  • CPG or B2B experience
  • Food or apparel industry background
  • Experience owning project plans, milestones and specific deliverables
  • 75% of travel
  • Located in Boston (preferred)

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
