The Director of Business Development is a critical and high profile quota-carrying role. You will help us expand our reach and diversify our revenue base. You will be the expert on the industry and partner ecosystem. You will define the business development strategy and business plan. You will source, develop and close revenue-generating partnerships with OEMs, telcos, app providers, insurers, and more. You will make 1 + 1 = 3.

Responsibilities:

  • Map and understand in great detail the industry and partner ecosystem
  • Develop a strategy and business plan that achieves annual revenue targets
  • Define and prioritize potential partners using structured thinking and analysis
  • Prospect and source opportunities with potential partners
  • Develop partner opportunities by:
    • engaging key stakeholders
    • understanding their business & technical requirements
    • educating them on our capabilities, differentiation, and value
    • overcoming objections
  • Structure mutually beneficial revenue models
  • Negotiate and close agreements that result in predictable, committed revenue
  • Run a disciplined partner sales process
  • Develop, communicate and execute partner and opportunity plans
  • Create and deliver accurate revenue forecasts
  • Ensure partners succeed post-close and grow our business with them
  • Travel across the US and Europe

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to generate strategic revenue-generating partnerships for A/B round technology or SaaS startups
  • Experience targeting and closing deals with companies in insurance and/or fleet/telematics 
  • Consistent ability to achieve quotas of $1M or more in ARR
  • Premier strategy consulting or private equity experience preferred (i.e., Bain, McKinsey, BCG, etc.)
  • Experience with variety of revenue models (OEM, rev share, pay-per-action, etc)
  • BA or BS degree; MBA preferred
