The insights we glean through these interactions allow us help health systems identify and generate new growth opportunities, build referring physician loyalty, and enhance the advocacy of satisfied and loyal customers in target markets.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Business Development Manager brings a desire to be an agent of change in healthcare. 

The primary responsibility is for managing the activities related to increasing awareness and activation of new customers across direct selling and B2B marketing channels. The activities that help identify, communicate with, and build interest in Docent Health’s portfolio of industry-changing offerings with prospective customers.

This role is charged with developing new sales pursuit opportunities by identifying health system executives whose needs can be fulfilled by Docent Health, building initial interest with them, then aligning with senior Docent Health sales leadership to mature the sales opportunity.

The Business Development Manager will also coordinate marketing activities and events associated with commercial development including conferences, speaking events, social media coordination, public relations, and cross-functional collaboration to develop thought-leadership via blogs and case studies, and sales and marketing collateral.

You will get broad access to the expanding growth initiatives of early stage company; working closely with leadership and collaborate cross functionally with Sales, Product, Design, and Client Success teams among others.

Success will be measured by the number of high value leads pursued, and converted into the pipeline for new business opportunities through the various channels.

You will:

Execute direct outreach and campaign management:

  • Drive targeted, multi-channel outreach efforts (ie, phone, email, social, web, etc) to target key executive constituents and new market segments
  • Manage campaign analytics and provide regular campaign results reporting
  • Work with Docent leadership to refine approach to drive improved lead quality

Manage marketing activities:

  • Identify conference opportunities, and event planning to manage Docent Health’s presence at industry conferences and networking events
  • Manage Docent’s voice in the market through generation of social media content, and coordination of PR, and Docent thought-leadership (blogs, case studies)
  • Manage to a budget and develop marketing analytics and provide reporting regular on results of activities and channels
  • Work with Docent leadership across functional areas to refine approach to drive improved lead quality

Own quality lead development:

  • Drive initial engagement with prospects, vetting opportunities with a propensity for conversion into new business
  • Secure and drive introductory calls with prospects
  • Manage the coordination and communication of initial opportunity meetings
  • Leverage Salesforce and other communication and research tools (ie, Outlook, Slack, Definitive) to prepare, coordinate, and develop a strategy for initial prospect engagements
  • Deliver against monthly and quarterly lead-to-pipeline conversion goals

You are:

  • Experienced in a sales development and/or marketing role, ideally for a sophisticated solution set. Healthcare experience is beneficial but not required.
  • A strong self-starter. You take initiative to learn and gain a strong knowledge base of content related to the healthcare industry, particularly the provider market, and its applicable targets for the folio of Docent Health offerings
  • A superior communicator and have an aptitude for developing conversational and consultative business relationships with healthcare executives, their teams, and their support staffers
  • A cross-functional collaborator, well versed in developing strong cross-team relationships, and will bring those in relationship to the work being done with Client Development, Customer Success, Product, and Executive Management
  • A creative force. You find innovative ways to communicate and engage with the executives of prospective hospitals and health systems, and can enact new strategies and ideas in compelling and efficient ways
