Quality Engineer, Commodities
Geode is seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer who is passionate about investment and engineering. As quality engineer you will work within the quality chapter to create, maintain and improve internal product standards and report findings to the squad by working at the integration and system levels of testing. A successful QE will be able to stand back from the development process and think critically about the product they are testing to design and the technical tests they are implementing.
This is a hybrid work environment opportunity with a weekly in-office schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with remote work availability on Mondays and Fridays.

Responsibilities:
- Ability to define testing processes to validate data and back-end calculations
- Work cross-functionally to improve legacy systems as the team modernizes tech products
- Work successfully with development, product owners, agile leads and other quality engineers and quality analysts
- Create and maintain documentation for quality teamwork products (test cases, test plans, test strategy), Report any findings to the squad and stakeholders
- Conduct functional testing
- Establish a working technical knowledge of all the apps within the squad
- Establish a high-level business domain knowledge based on squad business partners
- Participate in creating, reviewing, and refining work products (requirements specifications, design, user stories and models) when drafts become available to ensure testability and traceability of work products
- Establish, maintain, and improve internal quality practices adding to increased internal quality standards
- Contribute to the defect management process
- Ability to support releases after hours
Skills you bring:
- BS/MS in Computer Science
- 2-5 years relevant work experience
- Knowledge of various testing approaches at different levels
- Release and deployment skills
- Proficient w/ SQL
- Basic coding skills
- Familiar w/ SDLC and agile methodologies
- ETL, API and DB & E2E testing practices
- Familiar with Linux commands and troubleshooting skills
- Jira, Confluence and Miro
