Technical Product Manager
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Technical Product Manager to join our Promotion Engine Platform team based in Boston, MA. You will be a key driver behind initiatives for the Chewy.com eCommerce site. This entails not only being a member of the technical product management team, but also innovating the process and development strategies to support Chewy’s explosive growth in customers, sales, and team expansion. This is not the standard product management role, as this role is building application support structure from the ground up which means getting in the trenches and participating in activities across the board.
What you'll do:
- Create and maintain the product backlog, help manage the prioritization of your backlog, utilize a data-driven approach to optimize delivery against business goals, research, and help with launch efforts to deliver business value and wow pet owners.
- Utilize data to understand customer behavior as well as business objectives; transform those insights into clear requirements for product enhancements and new features.
- Help define measures of success (KPIs) for new features and enhancements.
- Create business requirements that help deliver meaningful products to market.
- Partner with product leads to assist with financial analysis needed to create business cases for new opportunities.
- Develop and maintain your product backlog ensuring product vision aligns with a best-in-class customer experience and broader business objectives.
- Utilize both quantitative and qualitative reasoning to break down complex problems into actionable plans.
- Utilize Agile methodologies to deliver and iterate on new features at a fast pace.
- Monitor performance of your product(s) and measure impact of product enhancements; communicate impact clearly across the organization and use to drive prioritization.
- Manage relationships with vendors, oversee all vendor engagements (including day-to-day support, service tickets and ad-hoc consulting services) for your area of responsibility.
What you'll need:
- 4+ years of Technical Product Management or Product Management or Project Management experience
- Technical savvy, including hands-on knowledge/skill of system integration, relational databases and business process for promotions and marketing
- Experience in strategy development applying knowledge of marketing, customer and personal service, communications
- Agile experience (Scrum Master, Product Owner)
- Ability to perform business requirements analysis and design
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Capability to identify and mitigate development and implementation risks
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Marketing, Operations Management, Business Administration
- Position may require occasional travel
Bonus:
- Experience with building E-com solutions.
- Exceptional customer service skills, follows up with clients and team members, and takes initiative to anticipate and solve problems.
