Job Summary

Position summary:

 

Nuance is working on a groundbreaking program that transforms patient experiences in healthcare, using a combination of purpose-built hardware and conversational AI technology. The technical product manager and product owner of Ambient Hardware will be responsible for defining and managing our ambient hardware (“clinical smart speaker”) device, working collaboratively with our hardware development team and the larger R&D organization. As a product owner, you will define all the hardware and device software functional requirements, take a lead position in managing our relationship with 3rd party hardware design and manufacturing firms producing the unit, and ultimately take accountability for the success of the resulting hardware product.

 

Principal duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Define all functional requirements of the device, working side-by-side with Nuance’s core hardware team
  • Own the end-to-end user experience of the device workflow, working with the product management, business strategy, user interface, and engineering groups
  • Define appropriate testing and validation approaches
  • Prioritize and align all the requirements within the overall milestones of the program, working within agile processes 
  • Serve as a key leader in managing our 3rd party design and manufacturing partner
  • Define key OKR’s for the device
  • Prepare ambient device technical information (e.g. data sheets, installation specs) for marketing and customer purposes
  • Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders on how the device will be deployed, installed, and maintained within clinical settings     
  • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing

Knowledge, skills and qualifications 

 

Education: BS, Technical Engineering Discipline

 

Minimum years of work experience: 10 years

 

Required skills: Experience managing hardware and embedded software products. Clear and concise communication. Detail oriented. Operate in high-paced and agile environments.

 

Preferred skills: Electrical Engineering background strongly preferred. Understanding of Healthcare Market
