Senior Technical Product Manager
Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager in Boston, MA, where you will be a part of the Platform Engineering team to build and evolve Chewy’s ecommerce Platform for the consumption and usage of internal and external stakeholders.
As a Technical Product Manager, you will play a central role in evolving the Platform as a Product. You will engage with engineering teams to understand their roadmaps and their needs of the Platform and incorporate those needs into a roadmap. You will partner with Platform Engineering Leaders to prioritize the roadmap items and to transpose the roadmap items into requirements, epics, and stories for Platform Engineering Teams to consume and deliver upon. You will own the product vision, the roadmap, set deliverables, defining KPIs, and ensure that they are met. You will evangelize the Product as Platform, collaborate for adoption, and continually expand the Platform’s portfolio.
What you'll do:
- Work with Platform Engineering's internal customers to ensure that their needs are identified, planned for, and met through the creation of themes/epics/stories, technical specifications, and well-defined success criteria.
- Work with engineering and development teams to resolve bottlenecks to help deliver systems and functionality which meet customer needs.
- Analyze customer needs across teams and projects, identifying commonalities and working with other Product Managers to identify features needed for the Platform that meet these needs and use cases.
- Maintain product vision and roadmap, keeping stakeholders up to date on the deliverables and timelines.
- Create Requirements and corresponding epics and stories for Pod Teams to consume and deliver upon.
- Manage the backlog log in terms of priorities, refined stories, and the completion of epics.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders and make sure the team is continuously delivering to the growing needs of the business.
- Review and report on progress for initiatives/projects, managing project risks - including the development of contingency plans.
What you'll need:
- Bachelor's Degree (MIS or CS preferred) or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 7 years of Technical Product/project management experience.
- Technically savvy, including in-depth knowledge of public cloud, software development, and system integration.
- Experience with AWS Cloud technologies.
- Ability to architect high-level system plans (solution architecting).
- Agile experience as a Product Owner using Scrum and Kanban. Ownership of the Refinement Process.
- Ability to perform business requirements analysis and design.
- Ability to identify and mitigate development and implementation risks.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and accuracy.
- Willingness to travel (~10%).
Bonus:
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Knowledge of Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Experience with AWS Cloud technologies.
- Experience with other public cloud technologies (Azure, GCP),
- Ecommerce experience.
