Job Description

What we do: The Product team is the conduit between various stakeholders and the software development team. We work closely with various stakeholders and software engineers to facilitate the creation of innovative product offerings which transform complex business problems into easy-to-use software solutions.

What you do: As a member of the product team, you will learn about and own Product initiatives, interact with clients and stakeholders to understand their business needs, and help solve complex business problems with software. Additionally, you will create the epics and user stories that support the completion of the Product initiatives. You will interact with scrum teams, answer questions, work to ensure delivery of the product features and support the release process. From time to time, you will be asked to demonstrate new features a functionality to various stakeholders, interact with Product Marketing and facilitate presentations to various levels of the organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/Day-in-the-Life:

· Manage internal and external product priorities/timelines/goals across all functions

· Gain a deep understanding of customer experience and pain points to identify and fill product gaps

· Conduct research to generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth

· Create prototypes of key features to gain executive and client buy-in for the product vision

· Scope and prioritize product initiatives based on business and customer impact

· Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding

· Solicit customer feedback on company products and services

· Engage cross functional teams to enable and launch new features and functionality

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

· 2-5 years product management experience for B2B business models

· Experience working with SaaS enterprise B2B applications

· General knowledge of HR technology preferred

· SCRUM/Agile process experience

· Strong project management, planning, and organization skills, including ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

· Track record of launching successful applications

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences

· Strong interpersonal and team building skills - ability to work with a diverse team and proven effectiveness in presenting ideas and plans clearly and confidently to all levels of management

· Strong collaboration, along with customer service acumen, analytical and problem-solving mindset

· Experience making things happen in a fast-paced dynamic environment


FIRST YEAR IN ROLE:

Month 3: You will have met the team including the scrum team and architect, the UI/UX partner, and relevant internal stakeholders. You are familiar with the backlog, the current sprint, and the road map going forward. You are gaining a sense of situational awareness.

 

Month 6: You are writing stories and starting to groom with the team and attend all team scrum ceremonies. You have signed off on releases. You are starting to help plan and build out the next sprint. You have coordinated and supported UAT with internal services partners.

 

Month 12: You own the backlog and have a strong sense of the next 2 sprints worth of stories. You lead grooming meetings and act as the product owner in all scrum ceremonies. You can launch features. You are starting to visualize what is next in the roadmap for the team.
