Product Insights Lead
The Opportunity
This role within the MMFA Strategic Insights team efforts will focus on product insights that shape MMFA's strategic trajectory
The Team
As pace of change continues to accelerate externally and internally, we have greater needs to monitor and understand the external environment, make deeper use of data/analytics, and generate swift insights to inform our decision-making
To this end, the MMFA Strategy team focuses on three themes:
Inform SLT decision-making through Strategy Projects
Set the agenda for MMFA to leverage Data Science/Analytics
Provide thought leadership on MMFA's Product Strategy
The Impact:
Shape MMFA's approach to distribution across the spectrum of consumer financial service offerings, including financial planning, protection, wealth management, lending, and other consumer finance needs (e.g., cash management)
Synthesize the trends in changing consumer financial needs across categories, and translate them into actionable recommendations (e.g., product shelf addition) and advisor insights for MMFA Leadership and business owners
Synthesize competitive perspectives, including recent trends and developments that shape distributor's economics across a broad set of peer distributors (e.g., IBD, RIA, wirehouses, retail direct firms, insurance broker-dealers, start-ups etc.)
Closely collaborate with product teams within MMUS product (e.g., Life, DI), MMFA wholsesalers, MMFA Wealth Management teams (e.g., Product, OCIO), to answer strategic questions and solve high-impact problems
Provide strategic insights that inform MMFA's relationships with new third-party manufacturers, including structure and type of relationship, technology architecture, distribution economics, and other key deal terms (note: vendor relationship management is not in scope)
The Minimum Qualifications
Broad knowledge of consumer financial services distributed in-person with deep expertise in the underlying economics of wealth management, protection, financial planning/personal finance categories (e.g., consumer lending), ideally gained through a leadership role at an in-person financial services distribution network
Certified Financial Planner qualification strongly preferred; other product-type specific certifications (e.g., securities licenses, CLU) would be a plus
Able to see the “big picture” and prioritize the most valuable product/category insights
Experience building a compelling narrative, and succinct business case leveraging strong analytical skills, and delivering them in writing and through live presentations
Proactive, “at cause” mindset, and a sense of urgency to deliver results
Proven ability to engage collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and build relationships under tight turnaround times
Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
