About the job

We’re looking for a Product Operations leader to serve as the bridge between Hopper’s technology teams and our end users. The Product Operations Lead will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of our biggest projects, driving tactical product development as well as high-level strategic opportunities, to improve how our product(s) and team(s) function.

As a Product Operations Lead, you will work at the intersection of engineering, data science, user experience, and customer support, to facilitate the creation and implementation of successful new products. On any given day - whether you’re scoping and specifying solutions, analyzing operational performance, or shepherding features through development - your contribution will be critical to Hopper and the B2B team’s current and future success. This role will have exposure to all levels of the organization, and operate strategically while staying hands-on and extremely focused on the details.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a cross-functional product development team to build products, systems, and tools that deliver value to our customers and the company
  • Define and own the product strategy, objectives, and roadmap alongside business units, to drive customer value and reduce bottlenecks
  • Determine and design product requirements, working closely with engineering to oversee successful implementations
  • Identify root causes and solve complex problems across and within our B2B projects
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Diagnose and design process improvements within customer support, finance and supplier relations
  • Identify new business and existing optimization opportunities
  • Discern the essential qualities of our solutions: what's important, what's not, how can we limit cost and risk?
  • Understand and explain complex technical issues, determine impact, and communicate them to maximize clarity and drive resolution

Benefits

  • Well-funded and proven startup with large ambitions, competitive salary and stock options
  • Unlimited PTO
  • WeWork All Access Pass OR Work-from-home stipend
  • Entrepreneurial culture where pushing limits and taking risks is everyday business
  • Open communication with management and company leadership
  • Small, dynamic teams = massive impact
  • 100% employer paid medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance plans
  • Access to a 401k

More about Hopper

Today, Hopper is best known as a travel app. We're going to do about $1B in sales this year and weathered the COVID storm better than anyone expected. We just raised $170M from Goldman Sachs and Capital One, and inked a deal to be the exclusive travel provider for Capital One Travel.

We owe our success, in large part, to a proprietary suite of data-driven and risk-based financial services that we have developed that complement a customer's trip-purchasing experience. One example is Price Freeze, where our customers are able to purchase a financial option in the app to lock in any price that they see, on any item, for as short as 1 hour or as long as 21 days with Hopper taking the risk on the other side of the trade.

Now we're laying the groundwork for continued expansion in 2021 by adding great people to our team who can help us compete with the travel giants.
