Hardware Product Manager
Bevi is on a mission to disrupt the beverage supply chain and replace single-use water bottles with smart water machines. Thousands of companies use Bevi to sustainably provide their employees with pure, sparkling, and flavored water at work. As the market leader in IoT-enabled beverage machines, we’ve raised over $160M in venture capital and we have grown tremendously each year since launch. In addition to maintaining hypergrowth with our current product line, Bevi is heavily investing in new product development.
We are seeking a Hardware Product Manger to manage Bevi’s core hardware portfolio – setting strategy, pricing, and a roadmap of product updates and extensions. This role reports to Bevi’s Chief Product Officer. It’s a cross-functional position, interfacing with every department within Bevi. This person will work particularly closely with product managers for beverage (flavors and enhancements) and software (cloud and device), as well as Bevi’s various engineering and operations teams. Additionally, you will work closely with sales and marketing teams to extend the product portfolio into new geographies and vertical markets.
As a Product Manager for hardware, you will:
- Routinely interview customers and distributors to gain insight into how and why our products are successful (what to enhance) and where things can be improved
- Perform market research to map out the landscape of opportunity in front of Bevi
- Translate customer and market insights into product updates and extensions; maintaining and driving the product roadmap
- Drive commercial success measures (usage, revenue, and gross profit) for the core business
- Work closely with sales and marketing to Identify, prioritize and drive penetration into new market verticals
- Work closely with operations to ensure our machines deliver the best user experience
- Prioritize and drive Bevi’s international expansion, owning the product readiness while working closely with all departments
- Define how to price and position our products by understanding customer value and the competitive landscape
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience, at least some of which should be in a high-growth start-up, and some of which should be in a company with physical products (electronics, CPG, etc.)
- User research skills – the capacity to gain useful insights from observing and interviewing customers and the ability to turn those insights into actions
- Strong quantitative analytical skills - the technical ability to crunch millions of data points from thousands of machines, and the insight to figure out which parameters matter most
- Experience developing and refining marketing personas (of buyers, users, etc.) based on quantitative and qualitative research
- Strong general management skills – the ability to set ambitious KPIs and own an action plan to hit them. Experience owning a P&L is a plus
- MBA from a top-tier academic program, or a comparable general management set of experiences. Technical bachelors preferred
- Ability to be both hands-on and detail oriented while thinking strategically
- Excellent soft skills – Communication and coordination with multiple departments within Bevi is important to accomplish shared goals
