Associate Product Owner
The Corporate Financial Systems department is looking to fill an Associate Product Owner role within their team. This associate will use agile methods to deliver key technology in direct alignment with the business strategies.
The associate will assist in driving the agile team by managing interdependencies with non-agile teams in support of the Corporate financial reporting systems. Responsible for researching and defining external constraints on the team (e.g., regulatory and compliance approvals and mandatory upstream system changes). Performs tasks such as reviewing and writing user stories for supported products. Participates in defining and prioritizing the product backlog related to feature-specific business objectives and assists in streamlining the execution of program vision and priorities.
The APO will primarily support the OneGL enterprise global ledger and reporting system modernization initiative. The OneGL program is focused on the delivery of a global Finance Enterprise solution. This is inclusive of various SAP core finance and Treasury modules (i.e., GL, FA, AP, Cash Management, Treasury, Financial Product Subledger, Profitability and Performance Management, Reporting). This role will primarily support the General Ledger, Profitability and Performance Management module, and SAP Reporting tools. Previous exposure to financial reporting systems and adequate understanding of accounting and finance is required.
About the job:
- With guidance, responsible for articulating and translating the product vision into feature(s) and tactics for a particular product. Communicate the product strategy effectively to key stakeholders and team members.
- Support assigned feature-level key performance indicators (KPI's) and manages features or product(s) with a low to medium degree of KPI, scope, complexity, etc.
- Supports defining minimum viable product (MVP). Owns scrum team backlog (grooming, prioritization, and refinement)
- Works day-to-day with the scrum teams clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, constantly communicating and gaining alignment around feature or product strategy.
- Supports delivery of scope, partners with delivery teams to ensure user stories are clear, removes barriers for team members and resolves open issues/questions quickly and efficiently. Acts as the voice of the customer.
- Supports analysis of feasibility, cost ramifications, economies, or other aspects of planned or potential programs.
- Sets the quality standard for delivery. Develops test plans (user story acceptance criteria), accepts each story and potentially features and participates in team demos and retrospectives to validate quality, provide feedback to team and improve team processes. Partners across functions as needed to coordinate delivery plans, testing, training, and support.
- Assists with problem resolution as needed to ensure that internal and external customers receive prompt, efficient service.
- Communicates the feature or product strategy effectively to key stakeholders and team members. Incorporates stakeholder input into product roadmap while effectively negotiating tradeoffs of conflicting priorities based on value to the business and customer.

Qualifications
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.); Master's preferred
- 3 years of experience in business, technology, or consulting with a minimum of 1 year direct experience with agile teams
- Ability to develop strong working relationships and able to influence others and build consensus with cogent arguments
- Experience communicating moderate to complex ideas, issues and designs
- Ability to operate with incomplete information and make timely decisions
- Problem solver with ability to lead a team
- Experimental mindset with demonstrated willingness to learn and experiment
- Strong ability to adapt and address unique challenges in collaborative and creative ways.
- Prior experience with SAP S4 HANA ERP system preferred
