Senior Product Owner, Business Applications

Overview:

The Senior Product Owner (SPO) Business Applications, provides leadership for the Business Application product team and fills role of product owner on one of our scrum teams. The SPO works closely with the business to understand their strategic goals and objectives. The SPO responsibilities include all aspects of user story creation and prioritization with the business and scrum team, sprint planning, sprint review and backlog refinement.

The SPO is an experienced, driven, results-oriented professional responsible for successful for maximizing the value delivered from the executed user stories. A successful candidate is a strong communicator and can support large-scale initiatives-working with multiple business partners, stakeholders and sometimes vendors. The SPO works in collaboration to align and prioritize user stories through development, planning, execution, testing, implementation and through business readiness activities. The SPO works with other POs and Scrum Teams to ensure all aspects of each deliverable is compatible and coordinates with Business Application management for resource capacity and other priorities including initiative summaries for management and Executive Leadership review, as needed.

The SPO is familiar with a variety of agile concepts, ceremonies, and practices. The SPO relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish each sprint. The SPO performs a variety of tasks where a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Opportunity Highlights:

Create and continually refine a shared product vision, strategy, direction and roadmap for business applications and scrum teams Apply agile values, principles, and best practices across the organization.

Mentor other product owners on product ownership and provide day to day support and management for PO team activities

Provide transparency into backlog and progress.

Provide leadership to teams to ensure the focus is on key priorities and there is alignment to achieve business outcomes.

Facilitate meetings / workshops, to create a shared understanding with stakeholders, and engage team members to gather requirements and turn them into user stories.

Serve as the primary liaison between business partners, stakeholders and other POs and development teams, managing the relationship with all stakeholders.

Influence stakeholders through strong leadership skills and provide decision making with business and technical teams.

Facilitate agile ceremonies of a Product Owner.

Coordinate with internal resources and /or third-party vendors for sprint execution as needed.

Lead refinement exercises, accountable for sprint readiness.

Continually develop leadership skills and attend training as required to maintain Agile PO proficiency and best practices.

Skills & Qualifications:

5-7 years' experience as a Product Owner in direct support of a large scrum effort for a business application organization, working on initiatives/projects focused on application development.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

Experience with Salesforce required.

Experience with JIRA preferred.

Experience with Apttus CLM, Marketo and other marketing tech stack is preferred.

Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred.

10+ years of sales, marketing, support, or operations experience is a plus.

Product Owner and/or other Agile Certification desired.
