Our Opportunity:

Chewy is hiring a Associate Director Product Manager of Payments to join our pack in Boston, MA reporting to and supporting the Head of Payments and Fraud.  Payments is the team that owns the strategy, and builds the features supporting the infrastructure for payment acceptance and processing of all our Chewy.com customer orders. In this high profile role you will have exposure to the entire business and be involved in high-impact decisions and growth initiatives undertaken by the company. You will need to operate at depth, understanding the details of our business model, while also being able to “zoom out” to connect the dots across the enterprise. You will have had experience leading payment products at a private or public company preferably, in the retail eCommerce space, and demonstrated flexibility and willingness to roll up your sleeves to build and lead a team and have a start-up mentality.

What You'll Do:

  • Apply vision, strategy, and thought leadership to impact Chewy, at scale
  • Build and foster strong cross-functional relationships across the commercial pillars of the business. Help the company understand how all the pieces fit together and drive performance. Strengthen the team's partnership and influencing skills and further connect Payments Management into key partners in the organization.
  • Help develop and build a vision for core product areas within Payments
  • Identify green field opportunities in Payments to better serve customers from ideation to feature launches
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business, product, and engineering stakeholders to align on the product strategy and maintain recurring communication to share updates and gather suggestions
  • Guide and influence cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers, designers, and financial analysts while playing a key role in organizing and communicating their work across the organization
  • Work with UX research and Customer Service to gather qualitative customer feedback and leverage the same for roadmap/ feature validation
  • Work closely with payment technology engineers and developers attending daily and weekly Scrum meetings

What You'll Need:

  • Technical Acumen: 7+ in Product Management
  • Strategic Business Partner: A business partner to the Technology leadership team, Development Engineers, Finance and Product organizations
  • Industry Experience: 10+ years of experience in retail, eCommerce, or consumer packaged goods company, or relevant experience
  • Stakeholder Exposure: Experience interacting with influential stakeholders including the CTO and CPO.
  • A history of launching products and/or features with a customer first approach and delivering significant business impact
  • A history of integrating payment wallets and new payment methods flawlessly into an e-commerce merchant experience
  • You are familiar with and know the important KPI’s for payment tracking
  • Strong product acumen combined with influencing skills to serve as a thought leader for teams of product managers, engineers, designers, and analysts
  • Experience working in a culture of experimentation, learning, and innovation to solve user needs within the domain
  • Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred
  • Experience in communicating clearly and effectively (verbally and in writing) to senior leadership audiences internally and externally. Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate complex financial concepts in a simple way and to tailor key messages and presentation style to multiple audiences
  • Ability to build collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships with all stakeholders and effectively manage conflict resolution. Success in creating an inclusive culture that builds trust between cross-functional teams to drive the success of the entire company
  • BA or BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. MBA a plus
  • Position may require travel
