The Terraton Challenge is an open innovation challenge that rallies innovators to develop solutions that advance The Terraton Initiative, the global effort to remove 1 trillion tons – or a terraton – of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and use it to enrich agricultural soils. The Terraton Challenge will be an annual program that seeks to focus global innovators on agriculture as a climate solution. Responsibilities:

  • Build a work plan for successful execution of 2019 Terraton Challenge in lead up to Beneficial Ag 2020 that identifies workstreams, ownership, budget, strategic partners and key milestones
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to guide messaging and communication for Challenges by identifying key channels and tactics to attract applicants and partners
  • Determine structure for Terraton Challenge team, identify key hires, and map relationships to other internal teams collaborating on the Challenge
  • Build strategy for 2020 Terraton Challenge to increase efficiency, reach and international presence for future Terraton Challenges and Beneficial Ag 2019, with the goal of establishing the Terraton Challenge as the preeminent global challenge for agriculture and climate change
  • Represent Terraton Challenge at key outreach events such as conferences, universities, and/or accelerators

  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate and collaborate with a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix organization
  • Strong relationship building and networking skills
  • Strategic thinker with a view into best practices for developing sustainable program structures
  • Capable of juggling multiple priorities with a rapid internal pace of work
  • Flexible & comfortable with ambiguity
  • Strong connection to Indigo’s mission

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years’ work experience required, preferred experience in venture capital, innovation and/or program management
  • MBA or technical grad degree required
  • Project and budget management experience required
  • Incubator/accelerator management experience or experience working in open innovation / grand challenge development preferred
  • Experience working with or for a startup or strong network in the start-up space preferred
  • Able to be based in Boston, MA or remotely with frequent travel to Boston
  • Some travel to be expected (up to 20%)

Location

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
