Supply Chain Manager
Position Overview
LuminAID is seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Manager to join our team. Do you like getting things done, solving puzzles, and never, ever* being bored? Our growing customer base spans the retail, corporate, and disaster relief aid sectors, with shipments going to destinations all over the world. We are looking for someone to oversee our Global Supply Chain and help us to achieve our high quality standards, aggressive budget targets, and tight schedules.
The candidate must have excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills. We are seeking a driven, proactive, and detail-oriented team member interested in helping us scale and optimize our operations.
Responsibilities
Work closely to develop and execute a cost-efficient, high-quality supply chain strategy.
Strategically plan purchasing and production schedules with our factories to avoid overstocking, while optimizing efficiencies with material costs and production.
Maintain and update inventory software, shipping and product references (internal and external).
Manage our global warehouse operations and ensure we have the right software integrations and capabilities at each warehouse to streamline our operations and maximize growth opportunities.
Negotiate best rates with freight vendors, warehouses, and suppliers.
Supervise, train, and manage warehouse personnel and oversee fulfillment.
Stay up to date on shipping rates and regulations and coordinate with our sales team to adjust for changes in costs.
Ensure our shipments reach our customers on time and on budget.
Maintain and analyze data to assess areas of cost-savings and implement improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent writing and communication (written and phone) skills
Experienced with Google Spreadsheets and Excel
Interested in learning and optimizing different softwares and integrations
Detail-oriented, ultra-organized, and able to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management skills
Passionate about joining a socially-minded start-up
Ability to work independently and manage multiple ongoing projects and priorities
Bonus Qualifications:
Knowledge of the shipping/logistics industry terminology, standards, and common practices
Experience with ecommerce fulfillment or small parcel shipments (USPS, FedEx, UPS)
Excellent math skills and ability to use spreadsheets to analyze data
Good instincts in negotiating costs and cost accounting
Experience with database management and/or any of the following softwares: TradeGecko, Airtable, Shipstation, Flow, Shopify, Adobe Suite, Zapier, R
Interest in traveling to China. Spoken Mandarin or written Chinese skills are a plus
