We are looking for a Hardware Technician to help support our growth from our second restaurant, to our third, to our tenth and beyond. Did you just graduate high school with a technical degree? Do you have a few years of hands-on experience in repair or general maintenance, HVAC, auto repair, and are looking for your next exciting opportunity? Our team includes experienced chefs and brilliant engineers aligned in achieving a mission of enabling more people to live fuller, healthier lives.

Compensation for this role will range from $22/hr - $25/hr depending on experience and skills. This is a full time hourly role, averaging 40 hours a week, with the opportunity for overtime work as needed. Hours may vary but likely be 6:00 am - 2:00 pm, with some on-call work at varying hours. All applicants must be able to travel from our office in Somerville to our restaurant locations in Boston and Cambridge.

What You'll Do

    • Oversee Spyce’s robotic restaurant equipment operations - performing on site maintenance and troubleshooting if errors occur
    • Track bugs and ongoing issues and work with engineering teams to track and resolve 
    • Maintain our prototyping lab - Organizing tools, materials, and the space, ordering supplies and tools when needed
    • Support the engineering team in performing tests and experiments to qualify the design of next generation robots.
    • Learn and execute hardware assembly best practices, learning the ins and outs of building our next infinite kitchens

Who You Are

    • Technical background or training from a trade school or previous work experience.
    • Good with your hands, interested in mechanical assemblies and how things work.
    • Willingness to learn and train on the job.
    • Work well in small teams, and with people with different skill sets than your own
    • Must have a method of transportation to get to and from our restaurants and prototyping lab
