Publications Manager

Description
Seeking an organized and experienced leader for establishing and tracking a scientific publication plan and strategy for the organization. This individual will hold responsibility as a member of the scientific and regulatory affairs leadership team and integrate the strategy and data generation initiatives of the department into a comprehensive publication and data disclosure plan that meets the strategy and supports our corporate goals.
The Publication Manager will report to the Chief of Staff for the Scientific and Regulatory Affairs department and will play a key role in both strategic development and tactical execution for scientific messaging and presence. The successful candidate will work closely with the corporate communications team, as well as the external partnership leader to coordinate efforts along these fronts.
Key Responsibilities

  • Development of scientific communications strategy considering upcoming conferences, journal timelines and other key landscape initiatives which are of interest to Iterative Scopes
  • Oversight of all medical writing efforts and timelines for Iterative Scopes, as well as overall management of external vendors and organizations providing publication and writing services
  • Coordination with internal and external departments and partnerships to ensure incorporation into one communication plan
  • Strategic input to scientific strategy and data generation to maximize external opportunities and timelines
  • Monitoring of external environment to identify and keep up to date of scientific events and their associated timelines of particular interest to Iterative Scopes
  • Serve as a member of senior scientific leadership team
  • Development of a publication and medical writing capability / team for Iterative Scopes (over time)
  • Leadership of all planning, preparation, and engagement with Journals, conference submissions, and other channels of scientific communication
  • Tracking and reporting of uptake of scientific materials released to public domain
  • Identification of metrics and defining budget necessary to achieve annual goals


Requirements & Qualifications
Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Compliance and or regulatory background
  • Strategic and innovative thinker
  • Ability to understand corporate strategic goals and contribute to execution of regulatory activities to support those goals
  • Ability to communicate ideas and influence without authority
  • Team mentality and ability to work in matrixed environment
  • Willing to roll up sleeves and dive in where needed
  • Experience in the healthcare environment
  • Previous management experience, especially in high-growth start-up environment
  • Previous experience in building and developing teams
  • Culture-oriented leader
  • Experience in regulatory submissions


Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree required
  • 7+ years of experience in regulatory activities, including working with the US FDA (preferably in the pharmaceutical industry)
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team with direct reports
  • Ability to juggle multiple submissions and discussions
  • Capability to prioritize most important work
  • Ability to work across multiple groups to pull together strong submission documentation
  • Ability to coordinate between internal and external parties
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Agency mindset and advanced knowledge of industry compliance, rules and regulations
  • Ability to represent Iterative Scopes to external parties
