The Principal Solutions Architect works with user groups to solve business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals. The Principal Solutions Architect provides strategic advice and guidance to functional team(s). Highly skilled with broad, advanced technical experience.

 

Responsibilities

 

The Principal Solutions Architect translates business needs into technical systems solutions. Integrates hardware, software and network interfaces to form a system. Works with senior executives to develop and drive segment or enterprise-wide functional strategies. Advises one or more areas, programs or functions and provides recommendations to senior executives on matters of significance, and as an advanced subject matter expert competent to work at very high levels in multiple knowledge and functional areas across the enterprise.

 

The ideal candidate should have in-depth technical expertise, proficient with delivering concise architected technical system solutions and architectural roadmaps. Will research and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations for changes that would enhance the platform. Provides strategic advice that identify and specify complex business requirements and processes that drive the (APaaS) platform roadmap. This individual must be a skilled leader and influencer that will provide comprehensive consultation to business units and IT management and staff at the highest technical level.  

 

The ideal candidate will be passionate about data and how it can be leveraged to influence work across enterprise teams to ensure Humana’s solutions start first with the customer in mind, i.e. are easy to use and represent integrated data rich consumption.  We are seeking a candidate who can quickly establish rapport, credibility, and trust throughout the organization at all levels and be viewed as a team player. 

               

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Have the strategic vision on appropriate data structures to support performance and stability for business consumption and analytic development.
  • Partner and drive data strategy roadmap
  • Drive requirements with business needs in mind and negotiate with IT on parameters / resources.
  • Create processes and/or tools that enhance operational workflow and provide positive customer impact.
  • Lead development of strategic technology direction and definition over technical domains
  • Deliver on communication, architecture standards, guidelines and guidance to IT partners and analytic resources.
  • Nurture relationship with Humana IT to leverage its assets, ensure proper levels of communication and adherence to processes
  • Ensure project compliance with approved technology roadmap and associated blueprints and techniques.
  • Ensure risks are appropriately identified, prioritized and mitigated
  • Partner and align with technology architecture experts in other organizations in DH&A.
  •  Perform POC with engineering team to ensure that the right technologies are being built and meet requirements

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Exceptional knowledge of data collection, management, analysis, and problem solving to meet business expected outcomes. Thinking with performance and visualization in mind.
  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Proven leadership skills in organizing, planning, supporting and directing a high functioning team
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Experience with data integration (ETL) and defining data architecture models
  • Outstanding Enterprise Systems Architecture experience and knowledge of database environments like SQL, Oracle, Hadoop and Azure cloud.
  • Experience with high volume, streaming data sources and low latency compute pipelines.
  • Strong exposure to data modeling and database design & concepts, both in relational and multi-dimensional environments
  • Knowledge of Information Security and Risk management
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, design patterns, cloud operations and cloud cost models with hands-on ability to implement best practices or suggest improvements.
  • Experience working in large matrix environment
