Principal Metasearch Analytical Manager, Hotel MetaThe Hotels Meta Auction team is looking for an ambitious and exceptional individual, with a true passion for data.  You will be leveraging your analytical superpowers to provide insights both externally to our key OTA and Hotel clients to help grow our partnership as well as internally to support our Auction Data Science and Product teams in their efforts to continuously enhance our Auction mechanisms and bidding algorithms.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic self-starter with a track record of successfully leveraging data and an analytical approach to solve problems and uncover opportunities. You have experience working with clients and managing external relationships on both a strategic and analytical level.  You are passionate about digging into data and using a data-driven approach to identify opportunities and drive improvements, big and small, to influence stakeholders.

Working in close collaboration within the team but also across Meta Success, Product and Data Science team members, you will need a desire to contribute to an open & collaborative working environment across time-zones, a passion for learning and for imparting your knowledge to others, and an innate ability to consistently and autonomously produce high quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities/What you’ll do                                                                          

Campaign optimization & growth for key clients

  • Be accountable for understanding and managing client campaign performance. Systematically perform analyses, leveraging data from various sources, to identify problem areas and opportunities. Build upon existing tools and methodologies, and enhance/develop new ones as needed..
  • Be able to clearly communicate recommendations for optimization and growth to your clients - including participation in Quarterly Business Reviews, often in front of various levels of leadership up to C-level.  Reliably drive and facilitate prep work, analysis, and internal reviews for client facing meetings to ensure proper preparation. Support clients on executing their growth strategies and goals each quarter, while tracking & reporting on impact internally
  • Work closely with your Meta Success counterpart to align on account strategy for your clients, with focus on building long term relationships. Represent the voice of the client to internal stakeholders regularly, ensuring you advocate for their needs while seeking win-win solutions.

Internal analytics & strategy

  • Proactively contribute to the work of the wider Auction team, providing strategic insights, analysis & data driven recommendations. Lead projects that support the organization’s goal of increasing competitiveness and health of the Hotel Meta auction 
  • Work closely with Product and Data Science to gain thorough knowledge and understanding about relevant tests/initiatives and their impact to auction dynamics. Act as a Product subject matter expert both internally and externally with your clients
  • Work closely with internal teams responsible for data sources, taking an active role in identifying business challenges and developing best practices to address/resolve these

Scaling and leveraging data

  • Leverage Tableau and other tools to build out dashboards & data visualizations - for internal and external usage. Constantly look for ways to improve tools and methodologies used by the team with the goal of reducing manual intervention - freeing up bandwidth to focus on interpretation and analysis
  • Build and documenta repository of custom SQL queries for the team to leverage to reduce the need for starting from scratch

Requirements

  • Master of Science in an analytical or technical field, OR equivalent years’ experience in data analysis and in a client facing role 
  • Expert understanding of Tableau, SQL & MS Excel, to analyze large data sets and create visualizations
  • Excellent problem-solving & analytical skills. A proven track record of successfully & creatively leveraging a data driven approach to solve problems and create opportunities that align with the wider business objectives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate virtually with clients & team members around the globe, sometimes requiring early morning or evening working hours
  • A fast learner who is resourceful and eager to make an impact in a large organization
  • A strong sense of ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and working with little supervision in a fast paced, global & highly dynamic environment where products and processes evolve rapidly
  • Results oriented, organized, flexible and open to change and new information; adapts behavior, work methods & priorities accordingly
  • Able to give and receive constructive feedback and embodies a growth mindset
  • Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $145,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
