Responsibilities:

  • Build and develop strong partnerships with external partners and internal stakeholders
    • Within 45 days, identify and meet with the key stakeholders of each type of spend associated with the assigned categories, in order to learn and document business requirements and specifications for the desired products and services needed (routine and special requirements).
    • Within 90 days build strong rapport with suppliers
  • Determine categorical and procurement spend
    • Within 90 days, have a working knowledge of the assigned categories of spend, understand the existing suppliers and review all contracts and purchase orders that are active
    • Within 90 days conduct detailed spend analysis by category
    • Within 90 days develop cost saving targets
    • Within 90 days conduct market and competitive conditions by category
    • Within 90 days become a procurement superuser for the Oracle System
  • Determine category needs and develop overall Indigo indirect category procurement strategy
    • Within 90 days, establish a process for stakeholders to request future purchase needs and design a process to serve those needs (negotiations, contract creation and completion, identify new and/or improve suppliers)
    • Within 150 days, develop the beginning structure and content of a written strategy for each assigned category

  • Demonstrated experience in working with Reverse Auction tools and electronic catalog systems

Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise procurement systems (Oracle ERP preferred)
  • 8-10 years of procurement experience preferred
  • Able to travel; 20% on average
  • Bachelor degree required; MBA preferred: Procurement, supply chain or related degree (FC pref: Eng Bach; MBA)
  • Lean Six Sigma experience/cert preferred
  • Experience in spend analysis, market and benchmark analysis
  • Experience in a manufacturing or life sciences industry (preferred)
  • Memphis- or Boston-based (1 manager in each)

On the edge of Charlestown, we are within walking distance to restaurants and bars. The Sullivan Square T and bus stop is also right next door! We are currently working remote/hybrid with the exception of our fantastic Biotrinsic team who work from the office and lab space here.
