The Opportunity

 

Fraud Operations plays a critical role in protecting MassMutual and its customers from fraudulent activity and financial crimes. As a member of the Fraud Operations team you will be responsible for supporting the company's efforts through expertise in analyzing data and making recommendations to mitigate fraud risks, while providing technical insights and assessments that support MassMutual's ongoing fraud prevention efforts in a digital environment. The successful candidate will be a partner in a cross-functional collaborative effort to support and enhance fraud prevention and detection capabilities.

 

The Team - MassMutual Fraud Operations

MassMutual's Digital and New Business Fraud Team is focused the strategic prevention and detection of the ever-evolving threat of digital and new business fraud by developing a comprehensive strategy rooted in industry expertise, cutting-edge technology, research and the innovative implementation.

 

The Impact

As a Fraud Prevention Consultant, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team, responsible for on-going multi-departmental activities to support the identification and implementation of technical capabilities that support and enhance MassMutual's' fraud capabilities through new and emerging threat detection solutions.

Responsibilities of this will be, (but not limited to) :

  • Assessing gaps and vulnerabilities within the digital channel and provide technical insight on improvements
  • Function as a technical expert to research and analyze digital activity to detect and remediate emerging threats as well as implement standard operating procedures ( SOP's) used by the Fraud Analyst team
  • Performing risk assessments and gap analyses ( planned and ad-hoc) to identify and evaluate fraud risks and control weaknesses
  • Ensure appropriate countermeasures are in place to mitigate risks
  • Build cross functional collaboration to enhance enterprise fraud prevention and detection capabilities
  • Reporting and tuning monitoring rules to address false positives and and negatives, leveraging indicators and patterns of compromise to identify at risk customers and company assets
  • Monitoring, testing and evaluating the effectiveness of business process and existing fraud prevention controls and protocols
  • Consolidating data to show continuous improvement, efficiencies and risks averted through Fraud Prevention efforts
  • Working collaboratively with internal customers and partners to quantify fraud risk and exposure
  • Ability to analyze and make recommendations, providing sound judgment, and escalating issues as appropriate
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills as well as agility and resilience in acting to prevent gaps

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years in the financial crimes including fraud, money laundering, information security, cyber security, etc
  • 3+ years detecting and preventing financial fraud in related industry
  • 2+ years supporting migration/implementation of software or technology platforms in an operating environment
  • 1+ years with investigative tool sets NIDS, NIPS, SIEM OR working with comparable ( i.e. Splunk, QRadar, Securonix) OR other relevant tools
  • Experience with Financial Crimes / AML monitoring platforms ( i.e. NICE-Actimize, FiServ-FRCM, FICO-Falcon) OR other comparable industry tools
  • Ability to generate and utilize analytics in detecting trends and patterns to accelerate problem solving
  • Proven success in meeting project milestones
  • Self motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in MS Office ( Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in risk manager, internals controls or audit
  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • 2+ years project management experience, Agile experience preferred
  • Certified Fraud Examiner ( CFE) certification
