We’re growing at lightning fast speed to meet the demands of the evolving Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) market and we are currently searching for a Director, Strategic Initiatives to join our team.

The Director, Strategic Initiatives will report to the CFO and serve as an adviser to the executive team and drive strategy definition and the execution of projects that allow us to achieve our strategic goals.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Partner with the executive team to define the strategic objectives of the company and align programs and projects to those objectives
  • Meet regularly with the C-suite to report on status, drive critical decision making and provide risk mitigation strategies on current initiatives
  • Work with leadership and apply operational, financial and industry knowledge to identify and propose recommendations to address both critical business issues and growth opportunities
  • Review new project submissions, provide thoughtful feedback to the sponsor and ultimately make a recommendation on feasibility and alignment within the current business model
  • Work with business owners to plan and execute projects approved by the Executive Steering Committee
  • Provide Project Management Support to all Program and Project leads:
    • Provide day-to-day project management support to project teams and the Executive Steering Committee (ESC)
    • Provide teams with appropriate project planning and execution templates and facilitate the completion of those templates
    • Manage issues, risks, dependencies, overlaps and decisions across all projects managed under the EPMO
    • Provide updates and escalate risks/issues/decisions to the ESC and communicate back to project leads
    • Ensure cross-functional project coordination and manage stakeholder communication
    • Provide basic project management and Fuze EPMO governance training to project and program leads
    • Maintain and re-define the governance of the EPMO as required to meet the needs of the business

Key Attributes

  • Strong understanding of Fuze operating model and role of the various functions within the Company
  • Critical thinker with the ability to see the big picture and have an understanding of how project objectives align with Fuze strategic objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization as the conduit for information between the EPMO, ESC, project leads and other stakeholders
  • Ability to interface directly with the executive team, make recommendations on project execution and drive decision making
  • Previous project and program management experience and the ability to provide oversight to multiple projects concurrently
  • Effective relationship management with the ability to navigate political environment, motivate stakeholders and instill confidence
  • Proactive individual with the ability to work independently and manage ambiguity
