The role

We’re looking to hire an experienced and influential Director of Operations to join and help scale our US operations. Reporting into the Head of Lending, the role requires a qualified candidate to have extensive experience in lending operations, customer service, project management and both technical and industry specific knowledge. The ideal candidate will have a background in retail banking with solid knowledge of digital product offerings, regulatory requirements and banking systems. They are expected to scale the operations and customer service function as well as design, develop and deliver business intelligence reporting that is clear and actionable across the company.

  • You have led successful implementation of strategic operational projects to completion while successfully managing stakeholders, including C-suite.
  • You have designed and managed end-to-end processes in Financial Operations (documenting process and controls, completing processes within Service Level Agreements (SLA)), reporting results and establishing adequate Key Performance Indicators).
  • You are excited by the power of technology to change people’s lives.
  • You have identified and successfully resolved key operational issues by working with Development Teams to establish quick fixes and as well as long term solutions to operational incidences.
  • You show a positive attitude and flexibility when faced with multiple, fast-paced, competing objectives.
  • You have the ability to work with the team at all levels, in an open office setting, within a highly collaborative environment and start-up culture.

Nice to have

  • You have 7 to 10+ years of experience in Operations within Financial Services or a regulated environment. Experience in the lending industry a plus.
  • You have a college degree and have a passion for applying technology and innovative thinking to disrupt traditional markets.
  • You have a strong working knowledge of operational compliance and a strong understanding of Enterprise Risk and control framework.
  • You have the aptitude to learn the platforms and technology supporting our end to end operations, becoming a subject matter expert and the experience to integrate new technology.
  • You have direct supervisory and managerial experience of 5+ Operations/Customer Service analysts and the proven ability to organize people and tasks to achieve the Company’s goals.
  • You have the ability to stay focused on the big picture, perform multiple tasks and prioritize competing responsibilities based on workload, management directives, and customer demands.
  • You have the desire to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking, fluid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and scale Operations, Customer Service and Collections functions to support the needs of a rapidly growing business.
  • Develop the training strategy and materials for the Customer and Collections operations teams.
  • Review and revise policies, procedures, communication templates/scripts and documentation to improve clarity and ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal and bank partner operating requirements, providing consistency in problem resolution.
  • Work with the Finance and Operations teams to operationalize debt funding facilities and other potential capital markets transactions.
  • Document and design control points on the end-to-end operational journey.
  • Conduct operational assurance activity to ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous process improvement.
  • Design and implement a Customer and Collections operations strategy and develop a robust KPI reporting process to evaluate the Company’s ability to meet SLA requirements, optimize performance, achieve customer satisfaction and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Determine remediation action plans and programs for areas of improvement identified by internal and external audits and reviews.
  • Mentor reports and help develop best practices within the organization and complete performance reviews on an annual and interim basis, as required.
