Director of Cloud Security
The Opportunity
The Director of Cloud Security will be an integral member of Enterprise Cyber Security (ECS) focused on MassMutual's overall Cloud Security posture, including but not limited to Data Security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Network Security, and Software Security. In addition, you will assist in driving DevSecOps across MassMutual. You will work directly with the ECS Cloud Security team and respective ECS programs to develop technical standards and requirements and implementing tools to improve the security of cloud workloads and the cloud environment.
The Team
This role leads a small team of cloud security engineers and works closely with our Security Solution Architects to create and implement solutions to secure MassMutual's cloud infrastructure. This is a leadership position that works closely in an agile and inclusive environment with several groups of stakeholders across our Enterprise Technology and Experience (ETX) organization. If you have passion for cutting edge cloud services, deep interest in cybersecurity and information security technologies, can communicate the vision for cloud security into efficient designs, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment, then this role is for you.
The Impact:
This is a leadership position requiring excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to create and execute MassMutual's Cloud First strategy. You will lead the Cloud Security team and partner with various teams in an inclusive and agile environment across the Enterprise Technology and Experience (ETX) organization to define security standards and controls that mature the cyber resiliency of MassMutual's cloud environment. You will partner with the Head of Cloud and DevOps to operationalize controls in AWS and partner with Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects to design additional standards and patterns to improve resiliency. In addition, you will have the opportunity to define, maintain, and report out on OKRs, KPIs, and KRIs that measure the overall health of the Cloud Security program. Finally, you will mentor, coach, and facilitate in the professional development of the cloud security team.
The Minimum Qualifications
8+ years working in a Cybersecurity, Software Development, or other IT related field
5+ years of leadership experience
3+ years working in a multi-cloud environment
People-focused leader with an emphasis on professional development
Strong relationship management skills for collaborating with and influencing other IT leaders
Demonstrated understanding of management concepts, including communication, planning, and budgeting
Experience communicating to senior level management

Ability to work with virtual and global teams – including diverse groups of people with varied backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences
Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Creative, organized, positive, optimistic, and energetic
Familiarity with the financial services industry
Experience in DevSecOps methodologies
Mentoring skills and the desire to contribute to efforts beyond the scope of the day-to-day project work
Preferred Cloud providers certifications: DevOps Foundation, CCSP, CISSP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer Associate
