Desktop Support Technician

CrunchTime! is looking for highly motivated Desktop Support Technician will assist all staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications and related technology. Support includes specification, installation and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems.

Primary Role and Responsibilities:

  • End-user desktop hardware, software, printing, networking and internet support, including troubleshooting, instruction, and upgrades in a Windows environment
  • Must be able to multitask and work under deadlines to complete support tickets.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical problems and instructions to end users in terms that are easy to understand.
  • Skills and Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
    • 1+ year of experience supporting Windows and Linux environments.
    • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktops and laptops.
    • Experience installing software, patches, updates on desktops, laptops and servers.
    • Experience troubleshooting basic network, software and printing problems.
    • Proven ability to provide support to non-technical people on-site and over the phone

    What are some social events your company does?

    Did we say we like food? Every Friday we have a huge lunch spread from one of Boston's best lunch places - and it's always something different. Tuesdays are for hot bagels and muffins. "Thursty Thursdays" feature the finest local craft brews we can get our hands on. There's even a Bevi and all the Caribou, Dunkin' and Starbucks you can drink.

    What does your typical day look like?

    As an implementation lead, when I am on the road, I spend my day onsite with the client at their corporate offices guiding them through the process of integrating CrunchTime into their business model. One of the most interesting aspects of my job is learning our client’s business needs and helping them configure our application to meet those needs.
