Job Summary

A Manager with the ability and authority to ensure daily end-to-end delivery of Configuration Management services in accordance with this Configuration Management Plan. This includes configuration, change and problem management disciplines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day activities of the process, including establishing priorities and work assignments
  • Track compliance to policies and procedures and resolving / escalating any compliance issues
  • Facilitate Configuration Management audits
  • Review critical incident outage resolution results and responses and dispositions of failed changes due to CMS related issues
  • Facilitate communication and engage business and IT management to encourage configuration management efforts and value proposition
  • Engage with strategic projects to ensure Configuration Management can deliver required CMS functionality within project timeframes
  • Review and approve all changes to the CMS infrastructure where applicable
  • Review and approve significant IT infrastructure changes to ensure impacts to configuration management data are properly addressed
  • Mentor the organization on Configuration, Change and Problem Management services, concepts, policies and procedures
  • Chair the Configuration Control Board (CCB) and enacts changes as directed
  • Provide and approve all requirements, use cases, user stories, etc. in support of new or improving functionality of the CMS
  • Review and approve all requests for administrator log on credentials / access rights to the CMS infrastructure
  • Reviews and publishes configuration management reporting.

Requirements & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administration.
  • Professional experience in software engineering disciplines as they relate to applicable compliance regulations
  • Strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, particularly NIST 800-53
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills as well as effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision while performing duties;
  • Solid organizational skills with a proven ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, handle multiple projects/priorities/assignments/individuals simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Ability to work well independently as well as on a team;
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential matters and information; and
  • Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.
