Overview:

Drift is seeking a strategic, creative public relations leader to help amplify our vision to transform how businesses buy from businesses. This role will drive the strategy and execution of our public relations program, including announcements, media relations, executive platform development, bylines and thought leadership, and owns the day-to-day relationship with our public relations agency. The Sr. Manager/Manager, Public Relations is experienced in media, influencer relations and brand awareness with a successful track record of executing programs for technology companies. As the public relations lead, you are a storyteller and an excellent writer with an ability to distill complex concepts into conversational messaging and communication tools for the press, customers and internal stakeholders. 

You are detail-oriented, organized and have demonstrated success maintaining media relationships with key business, technology and trade press. You have experience leading and developing individual contributors and over time, will help build and grow the extended communications function at Drift. This role will collaborate closely with executives, marketing leadership, agency partners and the corporate communications team to elevate the Drift brand through strategic external communications. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure public relations strategies maximize the impact/effectiveness of communications and are aligned with corporate goals, objectives, vision and mission.
  • Develop and execute a media relations strategy that supports PR objectives and drives awareness of Drift, including announcements, customer stories, reviews, education and campaigns. 
  • Work with the corporate communications team and agency partners to drive proactive media outreach and strengthen relationships with key journalists, bloggers, and evaluators in technology, trade and business press. 
  • Partner with Product Marketing to influence industry analyst perception and awareness of Drift. 
  • Lead our agency partners to develop media-facing content, including press releases, media alerts, thought leadership briefs and bylines. 
  • Partner with key members across marketing, human resources, product, partner and administrative teams to ensure consistent and coherent positioning and engaging messaging for executives across multiple campaigns, events and opportunities. 
  • Contribute to and maintain corporate messaging documents, spokesperson enablement assets and presentations to ensure consistency across communication touchpoints.
  • Prioritize and manage incoming media requests for information, factual reviews, customer references and meetings at events. 
  • Support priority executives and spokespeople to ensure the successful execution of media events, press tours and engagements, including our annual conference, Hypergrowth. 
  • Manage unexpected communication challenges with high judgment and professionalism.
