POSITION: SEM Analyst

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Design and implement robust A/B tests to measure potential impacts of different tests related to bidding and keyword coverage; monitor and analyze performance of tests performed by the SEM team; create and maintain Tableau dashboards for measuring performance, monitoring and debugging of the bidding features; assist in implementing and monitoring new SEM bidding algorithm rollouts; implement ways to monitor operational system issues relating to problems with account structure and bidding; identify types of problems and keyword base to improve keyword buildout and cleanup system to scale; analyze data to help make automated solutions for keyword coverage settings; identify and fix issues and inefficiencies in account structure and settings; organize and categorize keyword patterns by different languages and different hotel types in order to create a better user experience; analyze regional and market performance trends to identify areas of opportunity and potential problems that may not exist in a market; work with localized search engines to identify unique opportunities for business; identify areas of opportunity in keyword coverage base to find more relevant traffic for the site; QA new features to automate the build out and removal of keyword base to help improve traffic and relevancy; implement changes in keyword base to help cover all
highly relevant traffic; coordinate with global bidding team to make sure daily bid checks go smoothly; train members of the global bid enabling team on how to identify problems in bidding based on bid-change metrics. Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
REQUIREMENTS: The position requires a Masters Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business, Customer Analytics, Finance, Applied Economics, or a related field; and one (1) year of post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or in a related position. Experience must include the following: demonstrable experience working with engineering or data science teams; demonstrable knowledge of querying in SQL; demonstrable experience with Google AdWords and Bing ads; demonstrable experience working with and analyzing large data sets; demonstrable experience taking learnings from data into actionable findings; demonstrable experience identifying issues in complex systems.
