Product Marketing Manager

We are seeking a talented Product Marketing Manager to drive growth, and client satisfaction by bringing to life the value, differentiation and proof points of our network and services to prospects, customers and industry influencers. You will partner with sales and marketing to shape the unified customer story and build our go-to-market activities for products and services. The Product Marketing Manager responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Deeply understanding the U.S. healthcare industry landscape,
Unearthing insights into buyer needs and market opportunities by actively shadowing sales teams, interviewing clients and engaging with influencers, embedding these insights within product narratives, stories, and positioning guides;
Defining unassailable product proof points as well as differentiated and engaging packaging and positioning strategies using the power of the athenahealth network;
Influencing product roadmaps by comparing insight into buyer needs and market opportunities with athenahealth’s distinctive competencies and existing plans and then publishing those roadmaps;
Writing a product story in a manner that describes the product’s ability to meet buyer needs, solve market problems and/or fulfill aspirations, creating internal positioning guides and assets focused on key the most differentiated aspects of our products;
Collaborating with our Demand Generation, Corporate Communications, and PR teams to ensure we have a consistent and compelling message in market.
Skills and Abilities Required:
Confidence in interacting with all levels of product and marketing leadership to drive a point of view around the future of the product and go-to-market campaigns
Strong background in messaging complex products, impeccable writing skills and a knack for establishing competitive differentiation
Adept at working with product teams to create and launch compelling new capabilities
Solid technical knowledge foundation with the ability to translate technical content into business value for internal and external stakeholders
Business acumen and financial fluency that enables you to successfully engage senior client executives such as Chief Financial Officers and Chief Medical Officers.
Willingness to roll up your sleeves and conduct detailed, substantive market and product research in order to understand our products, competitor’s products, and the market we inhabit
Able to work effectively within a team, yet have the ability to take initiative and work effectively on your own
Authentic, enthusiastic, collaborative, dedicated and open-minded!
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA strongly preferred
At least eight years of professional experience
Experience in the healthcare marketplace preferred
