ROLE DESCRIPTION: As Product Marketing Manager for our publisher-facing products and solutions, you will be responsible for internal education and outbound marketing activities for your products. In your role as PMM, you will be the expert when it comes to the buyer and influencer personas for your products, understanding how they buy and their buying criteria. You will transfer that knowledge to internal sales and service teams. You will work alongside your product management colleagues to develop annual business and marketing plans. You will create strong, benefits-oriented, content-driven marketing communication campaigns, and craft compelling messaging and positioning to drive demand for your products. Excellent writing and communication skills, attention to detail, an eye for quality, and the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits, are crucial. In this role, you will:
Partner closely with Product Management to understand and contribute to business strategy.
Be the market expert on your buyer personas, their role in the evaluation and buying process, and evaluate win/loss decisions
Work with Product Management to update personas as needed
Ensure that all staff members who build, sell and support your products understand the personas
Develop compelling persona-driven messaging and positioning as well as creative go-to market strategies that clearly articulate the value of our publisher solutions and what differentiates them in the market.
Identify and track insights and trends in the marketplace, including the competitive landscape. Share your insights proactively with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and other customer-facing teams, and be a responsive, go-to resource to support sales and product management.
Plan, build and execute product launch plans. This involves working with Product Management to identify key deliverables.
Create compelling and easy-to-understand internal-facing content (sales tools and training, competitive positioning, FAQs, and/or cheat sheets).
Working with internal analytics team, report on marketing program performance metrics to inform future marketing plans and investments.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES:
Superior communication skills, including narrative, PowerPoint, and public speaking
Ability to lead projects successfully with guidance and support
Highly collaborative and able to lead, partner, and influence effectively
Demonstrated track record of successful marketing communications, including crafting compelling positioning documents, creating content, and delivering campaigns with measurable results
Ability to drive consensus and articulate program recommendations and tradeoffs to senior stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS:
10 + years of experience in product marketing
Experience in publishing strongly preferred
Bachelor’s in business or marketing preferred
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and familiarity with Salesforce
Willing to travel (25%)
