Influencer and Media Relations Consultant
Toast, Inc. is looking for an Influencer and Media Relations Associate who has experience in identifying and engaging both influencers and members of the media. Candidates should have experience in sparking conversations among brands, businesses and consumers that build deeper relationships.
The Influencer and Media Relations Associate will manage highly visible blogger/influencer/ambassador campaigns and will develop and maintain relationships with established/emerging influencers across social and digital platforms. They will also assist with media relations efforts, i.e., pitching relevant reporters during news cycles, ahead of major events, and occasional proactive pitching. This person will have experience experimenting with innovative ways to leverage influencers and members of the media via phone, email and social media.
Ideal candidates will have PR campaign experience in either the restaurant/food service, technology or retail verticals. The ideal candidate will have active relationships and work experience with bloggers/influencers on both an earned and paid basis. This position is based out of Toast Inc’s Boston headquarters and works with a growing team of digital marketers and reports to the PR Manager.
JOB DUTIES
- Research and identify key influencers across multiple digital platforms to build powerful brand experiences online
- Working with the PR Manager, negotiate/execute on influencer contracts
- Implement integrated influencer campaigns that are aligned with brand strategy
- Administer vendor invoices, vendor forms, etc.
- Pull actionable insights from campaigns to measure the impact of influencer outreach work
- Stay on top of industry trends, the latest influencer and digital media advancements and relevant campaigns
- Assist PR Manager with media relations efforts, i.e., pitching relevant reporters during news cycles, ahead of major events, and occasional proactive pitching
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Influencer Marketing/Agency Experience: 2-5+ years at a regional or national PR/marketing agency is strongly preferred
- Influencer Outreach: Experience identifying, recruiting and managing influencer/ambassador programs for large, national consumer facing brands
- Pitching: Ability to conduct targeted outreach to influencers and members of the media
- Writing & Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must; candidate should have strong phone/email pitching skills in addition to an understanding of how to pitch and engage influencers/journalists over social media
- Creativity: Ability to help develop creative campaign strategies and influencer promotions that resonate with the Toast target audience
- Internet/Social Media Savvy: Candidates with prior social media community/blog management preferred
- Education: BA or BS college degree in marketing, public relations or communications or related field is preferred
