EdX is looking to add a talented and experienced Email Marketing Specialist to our Marketing team who will be responsible for developing and executing email marketing strategies and programs to increase learner enrollment and engagement. This role will drive execution of customer relationship marketing efforts, report on success, and help improve the future performance of these efforts. Specifically, this person will own the production and execution of newsletter and automated email marketing campaigns, as well as the analysis of all campaigns.

What you will be doing:

• Act as the subject matter expert at edX for the Email Marketing channel, contributing this expertise throughout the organization
• Produce and deploy email marketing campaigns to engage, retain and convert learners
• Collaborate with internal teams (Creative, Product, Marketing, Engineering, Educational Services) to drive email marketing capabilities and results
• Create and deploy emails via our ESP
• Optimize campaigns via A/B and other testing methodologies
• Track performance and report on results that will drive insight into all programs

Skills we need to see:

• 2+ years experience in development and execution of email campaigns
• 2+ years hands on experience with an enterprise level ESP (ex: Sailthru, Responsys, etc)
• Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS for email design, manipulation, QA, and debugging
• Knowledge writing SQL queries
• Expertise in email segmentation
• Excellent understanding of email marketing concepts and metrics
• Proficiency in email marketing and marketing automation technology
• Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and email optimization
• Excellent communicator (in both the written and verbal form)

Skills we’d like to see:

• Experience working with API’s
• Experience reading JSON files
• Experience writing Javascript and/or Zephyr code
• Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and DreamWeaver
