The Content Marketing Strategist will assist in growing select TripAdvisor brands across our Rentals and Attractions businesses through highly optimized content creation and distribution that improves our reach, awareness, engagement, and conversion across multiple channels. This role will have dual digital focus on blog content and social media. This individual will report to the Content Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the content calendar for the FlipKey blog. This includes working with freelancers and/or writing stories, extensive destination research and topic creation, analyzing data trends, optimizing articles for SEO with strategic keyword analysis, familiarity with using Wordpress CMS, and a general understanding of creating multi-purpose content (post to blog, push to social, include in newsletter, pitch for link building)
  • Manage paid and unpaid content amplification services for FlipKey content, such as Apple News, Facebook Ads, PubExchange, and general syndication strategies across brands/platforms—constantly identifying new opportunities and channels to promote our content
  • Dictate full social media strategy for select TripAdvisor brands, posting creative content showcasing our stunning rental inventory on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest with a meticulous focus on performance/growth (Reach, Likes, Shares, Comments, CTRs)
  • Utilize Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and internal tracking tools to analyze results of all channels and develop a robust monthly report to share with whole team—focusing on awareness (traffic, reach, coverage), engagement (social interactions, content CTRs), and conversions (visitors to site, vacation rental bookings) to show overall business value of content efforts
  • Liaise with team members from public relations, social media, link building, email marketing, and graphic design to support content creation and content sharing goals 

Required Skills:

  • A portfolio of produced content pieces with key metrics showcasing a multi-purpose approach and how they’ve been utilized across numerous channels
  • Solid understanding of content SEO tactics including but not limited to Google Keyword Tool, SEO titles & meta descriptions, keyword-centric copywriting, Google Search Console, image optimization, site structure, link building 
  • Experienced content writer with an understanding of how to create unique content that will resonate across audiences (though above-noted SEO strategy will be more important than writing skills)
  • A passion for social media—an understanding of how social can complement the content marketing strategy, how social users consume content, and what attracts clicks
  • Direct experience marketing on social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and other emerging platforms and tracking performance/growth
  • Experience managing freelance writer(s) a plus, or a desire to do so
  • Confidence to think outside the box and suggest growth ideas both big and small to improve content marketing strategy
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects at one time with very little direction
  • Equal enthusiasm for both day-to-day executional tasks and bigger picture projects
  • Keen interest in travel—understanding of travel/hospitality industry and trends a plud
  • An astute attention to detail and exceptional organization skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, mindset, and work ethic are a must
  • Experience using TripAdvisor and/or FlipKey a plus
