We’re looking for a talented content creator who can scale our marketing efforts and grow HubSpot’s audience.  

The Content Creator/Editor will take on a variety of projects. You will be responsible for writing educational, long-form site pages that increase organic traffic growth and drive leads. You’ll also act as an editor, reviewing outlines and providing feedback and guidance to junior writers. You should have a passion for growing the skills and expertise of others. In addition, you’ll complete SEO-focused projects, such as writing influencer outreach emails, conversion copywriting, or optimizing a set of posts to win the featured snippet positions.  

This role needs an editorial-minded individual who also has a results-driven attitude. You’ll should be able to easily perform keyword research on complex topics and analyze the performance of your work. The right person will be obsessed with growth marketing strategies, CRO, and experimentation. You should care deeply about quality writing and solving for business goals, crave feedback, and thrive in an environment of constant change.

HubSpot’s Content Team manages a variety of programs, including our Blog, which sees more than 4.5 million visitors per month. We also publish the #1 business publication on Medium and run two top podcasts.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and write long-form site pages to hit aggressive daily and weekly deadlines.
  • Edit content produced by junior writers according to HubSpot’s style guide and provide constructive feedback.
  • Oversee an editorial calendar for content creation and be able to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Collaborate with bloggers, SEOs, demand gen marketers, video professionals, product marketers, and external influencers to produce relevant copy.
  • Use data to uncover and identify high-performing topics and formats and adjust editorial strategy to hit goals.
  • Analyze campaign success and share insights and best practices for future projects.
  • Get buy-in for your creative ideas by communicating value.
  • Optimize content production process to solve for efficiencies.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience. Journalism, communication, or equivalent degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years professional experience writing and editing blog posts or other content for the web, demonstrated with writing samples and/or a portfolio of work.
  • Strong writing skills. The ability to create a cohesive narrative, write clear, accurate copy, and adapt your tone and style for different audiences and formats is required.
  • Comfort with collecting and analyzing data to continuously improve work and meet growth targets.
  • Ability and desire to solve for quantitative traffic metrics with creative products.
  • Experience working with HubSpot, Google Analytics, Moz, SEMrush, Ahrefs and other similar tools preferred.
  • Insanely high attention to detail. Errors, typos, and inconsistencies make your skin crawl.
  • Knowledge of marketing and sales industry, or a willingness and defined strategy to become a subject matter expert quickly.
  • Able to meet deadlines and prioritize work.
  • Complementary skill set in another category, such as video, graphic design, or HTML/CSS, is a plus!
