Communications Consultant, MMUS, CX Communications Team

Full-Time, Hybrid

*We are hiring for our Boston, MA office location in a Hybrid setting where you will be onsite 2 days per week.*

The Opportunity

As a member of MassMutual's Strategic Communications team, you'll work closely with leaders across the company to develop and execute communication strategies that help us achieve our goals and improve the employee experience.

The Impact

  • Work with MassMutual senior leaders and business partners to identify communications needs and develop integrated communication strategies that support MassMutual's priorities and goals

  • Support various enterprise-wide communication initiatives as assigned

  • Effectively counsel internal partners as appropriate, ensuring consistency and quality of communications to all audiences

  • Partner with the broader Strategic Communications team to support other business initiatives with integrated communication plans

  • Develop clear and concise communication materials for a variety of audiences and platforms

  • Ability to evaluate and recommend the best communication method/tool for a message (or combination of methods/tools, e.g., written, video, graphics, etc.) and then collaborate with our digital and design team to effectively integrate video, images, graphics, and interactive elements into communications, as appropriate.

  • Actively participate in editorial meetings and internal communications strategy sessions

  • Participate in data-driven analysis of communications effectiveness and adapt/respond to findings

The Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience

  • 5-7 years communications experience, preferably in internal or executive communications.

  • Experience working with and advising senior leaders

  • Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely on complex topics

  • Experience developing and delivering communications for a variety of audiences and platforms.

  • Ability to identify and leverage resources and collaborate across all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects and shifting priorities

  • Commitment to understanding and applying communication best practices, and applying creative and innovative techniques to communications as appropriate

  • Is curious, creative, collaborative, and agile

  • Can provide exceptional communication counsel

  • Has demonstrated experience developing communications for digital delivery (e.g., intranet, digital signs, email, social, etc.)

  • Has strong project management skills

  • Can see (and mitigate) an issue brewing a mile away

  • Is comfortable working in an environment where priorities shift quickly

  • Has strong business acumen and ability to “connect the dots”

  • Utilizes every tool in their communications toolbox to deliver compelling communications inform, engage, and inspire our employees.
