As a Process Engineer, you have a passion for production and are excited about creating and maintaining quality system policies and procedures, quality control process sampling systems, and statistical techniques. In this role, you will coordinate the efforts of quality support technicians and work closely with the Plant Manager to drive continuous improvements throughout the manufacturing facility. A background in materials engineering and familiarity with Python will enable you to lead improvement efforts throughout the manufacturing department. We're looking for someone who is a self-starter with a positive attitude who likes to jump in and do whatever it takes to get the job done!

You will:

  • Develop Quality Management System, which includes technical documentation, implementation, and training personnel
  • Analyze quality performance utilizing using statistical and analytical tools and methods
  • Manage the incoming quality inspection process
  • Work with suppliers to establish and monitor materials inspection specifications
  • Audit processes and procedures, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions
  • Assist disposition process by participating in failure analysis and suggesting corrective actions as a member of the Material Review Board
  • Resolve non-conforming materials issues
  • Perform product, process, and system audits and verify effectiveness of corrective actions taken
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and making recommendations
  • Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate reliability, precision, and accuracy of processes, products and production equipment
  • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources
  • Effectively communicate and reinforce Markforged’s commitment to quality improvement efforts
  • Drive yield improvement efforts
  • Interact with product development teams to inspect and review engineering releases

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years experience in manufacturing quality
  • OSHA training and an understanding of Code of Federal Regulations
  • Experience with 5S and lean manufacturing
  • Knowledge of factory safety requirements and SDS
  • Six Sigma certification (preferred, not required)
  • Python, SQL and data analytics, materials science experience
  • ERP/MRP experience

Working conditions and physical requirements:

  • Working on feet in the manufacturing facility for 5+ hours per day. Working on a computer for 4+ hours per day
  • Safety glasses and other PPE required for light manufacturing support
  • Primarily standing, concrete floor, and frequently walking throughout manufacturing facility
  • Lifting of 50+ pounds infrequently
  • High manual dexterity required during assembly of tooling and fixtures
