Lead QA Engineer - Hardware
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Assurance (QA)Test Engineer to help lead our Quality Assurance team in support of iZotope’s hardware audio products. The right candidate has extensive embedded software development/test experience, will focus on analyzing and critiquing requirements, has demonstrable experience developing and maintaining manual and automated test cases, and has experience working with Agile software development.
Responsibilities
- Leverage critical thinking to identify feature/product vulnerabilities and uncover edge cases while performing integration testing
- Drive consistency within and across teams
- Communicate insights about improvements to QA methodologies to management/team
- Work closely with Software Development and Product Management to understand product/testing requirements for new feature development
- Leverage technical expertise to effectively guide and test new functionality or changes within iZotope’s product portfolio
- Create, execute and maintain functional, system, integration and regression test suites using automated methods
- Foster a continuous improvement and process culture, with an internal/external customer mentality
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Lead QA role
- Experience with manual and automated testing of embedded systems and mobile applications
- Solid knowledge of a scripting language (Python preferred)
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Tools (Bamboo, Jenkins, etc.)
- Familiarity with Git or other version control utilities
- Experience with Xcode
- Experience with Linux
- Experience with critiquing requirements and writing test plans and test cases against them
- Ability to collaborate with software and hardware engineers/teams to improve quality engineering practices
- Comfortable with leading teams and guiding overall test strategy
- Ability to balance multiple high priority projects with attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with Software QA Engineers to reduce test friction
- Team player comfortable working in small/medium sized teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with object orientated programming
- Familiarity with TDD/BDD methodologies and writing clean and well documented code
- Familiarity with C++
- Familiarity with C++ bindings a plus
- Familiarity with audio/DSP systems a plus
- Holistic perspective on software quality
This position is located in our corporate headquarters in Cambridge, MA. Must be authorized to work in the United States
